Software Development Manager, Platform Engineering
Cloud Infrastructure Engineering | COO GET Engineering
About the Role
We’re growing our Cloud Infrastructure Engineering capability within the COO GET Engineering organization and are looking for an Engineering Manager who balances platform engineering expertise with application delivery leadership.
In this role, you’ll lead a team of Platform and DevOps engineers while partnering closely with Product, Design, Security, and Engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and developer-friendly solutions. Approximately 60% of the role focuses on delivery ownership for business applications, while the remaining 40% focuses on evolving internal CI/CD platforms, observability, and paved-road developer experiences.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity where you’ll help shape technical direction, mentor engineers, remove blockers, and drive operational excellence across modern cloud infrastructure environments.

What You’ll Do
People & Delivery Leadership
Lead, mentor, and support the growth of a high-performing Platform/DevOps engineering team
Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and psychologically safe team culture
Own delivery for one or more business applications, including roadmap execution, release planning, risk management, and operational excellence
Establish and improve SLOs, SLIs, on-call practices, incident response processes, and postmortem culture
Partner cross-functionally with Product, Design, Security, and Engineering stakeholders to align priorities and communicate progress clearly
Platform Engineering & Developer Experience
Operate and evolve Kubernetes/EKS environments across multi-AZ and multi-region architectures
Drive GitOps and CI/CD best practices using tools such as Argo CD, Flux, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy
Build paved roads, templates, and reusable developer workflows that improve engineering productivity and reduce complexity
Support infrastructure automation and infrastructure-as-code practices using Terraform and AWS CDK
Reliability, Security & Observability
Improve observability and operational visibility across logs, metrics, tracing, and synthetic monitoring
Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams to implement secure-by-default infrastructure practices
Help optimize cloud cost efficiency, scalability, reliability, and performance across AWS and Kubernetes ecosystems
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, resilience engineering, and operational ownership
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of people leadership experience managing and developing engineers
7+ years of engineering experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, platform engineering, or related areas
Experience delivering and operating business-critical applications in AWS environments
Strong experience with AWS services including EKS, EC2, VPC networking, S3, RDS/DynamoDB, Lambda, API Gateway, and CloudWatch
Experience with Kubernetes operations, Helm, autoscaling, and infrastructure security practices
Experience building CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows
Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or AWS CDK
Programming experience in Python, Java, TypeScript, or Node.js
Familiarity with SRE practices, including incident management, SLIs/SLOs, and operational excellence
Strong communication and stakeholder partnership skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience building or operating Internal Developer Platforms and self-service engineering workflows
Familiarity with service meshes, policy engines, secrets management, and platform governance
Experience supporting multi-region architectures and resilience engineering initiatives
Knowledge of observability platforms, distributed tracing, and synthetic monitoring strategies
Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems such as Kafka, Kinesis, SNS, or SQS
Familiarity with SOX, SOC2, compliance frameworks, and FinOps practices
