The Application Operation Services & Quality Engineering (AOSQE) team is a part of the larger Digital Business & Technology Solutions team. Working better together. As a member of the AOSQE, the Senior Software Quality Engineer will provide manual and automated testing services and quality assurance activities throughout the systems development life cycle for large, complex or high risk software development and agile projects. This role is focused on Web and Mobile application delivery in an Agile team and requires an experienced candidate who can design and develop Manual and Automated tests for functional and regression testing.
Main Accountabilities:
Work with the QE and Development teams to design, document and implement effective quality manual and automation strategies
Deliver product features as part of cross-functional agile teams
Champion and advocate automation and quality within the Agile team
Contribute to agile testing practices and processes
Create and maintain repeatable test ware including:
Regression models and automation scripts
Training documentation
Track QA progress and provide analysis & metrics on the QE Development effort
Log and track detailed product defects
Provide timely and effective communication to management, relating to quality, resource and project issues & concerns
Deliver key quality control documents and activities required in the agile team for web and mobile applications
Competencies:
Minimum 5+ years of relevant work experience, including development and/or quality automation experience & web and/or mobile testing
Related University Degree or College Diploma
Proven experience taking ownership for the success of QE deliverables
Knowledge and experience working with Agile methodologies, DevOps and tools (Jira, Confluence)
Proven experience successfully creating and updating manual and automated test cases with high complexity (eg TOSCA, Ready API)
Knowledge and understanding of release management
Experience delivering highest priority work
Mentored teammates in open, respectful, flexible, empathetic manner
Experience mentoring teammates in open, respectful, flexible, empathetic manner
Demonstrated leadership to implement QE practices
Demonstrated strong knowledge and experience in Cloud, API, TDD and BDD
Experience with Tosca, ReadyAPI, HP ALM/qTest, Mobile Center (or equivalent)
Experience with Internet technologies, web services, SOAP, XSL/XSLT, API
Knowledge of Git, CA Service Virtualization or other agile tools
Testing of web sites, and iOS & Android mobile applications
Knowledge and experience conducting Web Accessibility testing is an asset
Automation First mindset
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong research, analytical and problem solving skills
Approach tasks with an innovative mind set, positive outlook
Knowledge in financial services and insurance industry
CSTE certification (or equivalent) is an asset

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.
