Software Architect, Go to Market Platforms

San Francisco, CA, USA Full time

Job Requisition ID #

26WD96139

Position Overview
As a Software Architect within our COO Architecture team, you will lead the technical redesign of the systems that power how Autodesk sells and delivers its products. Reporting to the Senior Distinguished Architect for Go-to-Market systems, you will join a senior global team dedicated to moving the company toward modern, flexible business models by replacing legacy processes with a fast, secure, and scalable technology stack. This role sits at the intersection of business strategy and technical execution, where you will turn high-level goals into the architectural blueprints that drive company growth and revenue. Because our team is distributed across the Bay Area, Singapore, and India, we are looking for candidates in US time zones who can maintain a flexible schedule to collaborate effectively with our international colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • You will lead the technical strategy for how we sell and deliver products, creating a clear roadmap that ensures our sales and commerce tools work together seamlessly

  • You will define how our internal tools connect with third-party software to create smooth, end-to-end experience for both our customers and our sales teams

  • You will stay ahead of the curve by integrating "agentic" commerce—where AI agents assist in buying and selling—alongside generative AI, machine learning, and flexible, modular system designs

  • You will guide us in building cloud-native, real-time data systems that react instantly to business events and scale effortlessly as we grow

  • You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and business leaders to align our technical direction with the future needs of the company

  • You will evaluate whether to create custom software or purchase existing tools, ensuring every choice is secure, efficient, and fits our overall technical standards

  • You will collaborate with data specialists to design clear models of how information should be organized and stored across the enterprise

  • You will take difficult technical concepts and explain them in a way that makes sense to everyone, from software engineers to executive leadership

  • You will influence high-level technical decisions by applying the latest industry methodologies and high-performance technologies

  • You will ensure that everything we build is always available, secure, and compliant with global regulations without sacrificing speed or reliability

Minimum Qualifications

  • You have a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field

  • You have at least 12 years of experience designing and launching software systems, specifically for sales and online, in-product buying experiences

  • You are skilled at connecting different applications using modern tools and using real- time messaging to keep data synchronized across systems

  • You have experience building online marketplaces and portals that provide a smooth experience on both web and mobile devices

  • You have a deep understanding of sales tools, customer relationship systems, and data analytics

  • You can organize complex product and pricing data so it works well for both standard business needs and advanced AI search tools

  • You have practical experience using AI and machine learning to group products, analyze feedback, or suggest the best items for customers to buy

  • You know how to build flexible, high-performance software that is easy for a team to update and expand as the company grows

  • You have experience serving as a lead architect for a large, global organization

  • You understand how to build systems that follow international data privacy and financial  reporting rules
