Our client based in Birmingham. Is seeking experienced and committed Adult Safeguarding Social Workers to join their citywide safeguarding teams. These roles sit within a fast‑paced statutory safeguarding service and require skilled practitioners who are confident working with complex risk, multi‑agency partners, and safeguarding legislation.
What will your responsibilities be?
- Undertake and lead Section 42 safeguarding enquiries, including screening, risk assessment, and investigation of safeguarding concerns.
- Coordinate safeguarding responses in line with the Care Act 2014 and Making Safeguarding Personal principles.
- Chair and contribute to strategy meetings, professionals’ meetings, and safeguarding planning meetings.
- Develop, implement, and review risk management and protection plans to manage complex risk.
- Work closely with multi‑agency partners including police, health, housing, and care providers.
- Apply the Mental Capacity Act 2005, including capacity assessments, Best Interest decision‑making, and accurate case recording.
Qualifications & Experience:
To be successful in this role you must have,
- Professional Qualification: MA, BA, BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work, or CQSW.
- Registration: Must be registered with Social Work England.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 Years Post-qualified experience evidenced in a permanent qualified Social Worker role (ASYE completed). (MoC Cooling-Off Period)
- Legislation Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, safeguarding procedures, and Section 42 enquiries.
- Skills: Excellent risk assessment, analysis, report writing, and communication skills. Confidence working in high‑risk, multi‑agency safeguarding environments.
- IT Skills: Experience using electronic case management systems and maintaining accurate, timely records.
