Your New Role

 

The Social Producer on CNN’s Off-Platform Team will work to broaden our reach and deepen our engagement across top social media platforms. This role will work with the Channel Managers and the Video Editorial team to develop, produce and experiment with new storytelling formats and product features across TikTok, Instagram, and to some degree, YouTube. The ideal candidate consumes TikTok and Instagram content daily and understands both of its platform-specific mechanics, psychology, incentives, and culture.

 

Your Role Accountabilities 

 

Production

·         Create and edit highly engaging social content across platforms with a focus on TikTok and Instagram, in partnership with both the Video Editorial Team and the Off[1]Platform team

·         Experiment with new storytelling formats and product features across priority social platforms

·         Produce real-time social coverage of in-person lifestyle events

·         Conceptualize, produce and experiment with serialized social-first content for TikTok and Instagram

·         Conceptualize and produce shortform trend-responsive vertical video for TikTok and Instagram

·         Produce sponsored social content in platform-specific formats

·         Analyze metrics, make data-driven decisions and identify trends that will inform our audience strategy

 

Curation

·         Curate and distribute social content from our editorial partners across TikTok and Instagram on a rotating basis, as needed, with a focus on optimizing content for widest audience possible reach

·         Utilize best SEO, GEO practices in social caption writing and curation

·         Create custom thumbnails for content

·         Act as an internal ambassador to partners on engaging Off-Platform presentation and help provide a feedback loop that can inform coverage decisions and on[1]platform offerings

 

 

Qualifications & Experience… 

 

·         At least 3-6 years of social media experience at a media outlet

·         Experience creating engaging social content, including video, visuals and multimedia offerings

·         A power user of Adobe Premiere Pro

·         Understanding of user experiences across top social platforms and the algorithms that power them

·         Exceptional news judgment

·         Meticulous editing and creative copywriting skills

·         Experience using analytics tools to identify actionable takeaways and better serve our audiences

·         Experience creating social and digital franchise content is a plus

·         Flexibility is necessary for coverage on holidays and extended hours as news needs require

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $77,000.00 - $143,000.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
