Social Media Marketing Specialist

The Social Media Marketing Specialist creates and implements effective social media strategies and plans that measurably advance desired business outcomes. Identifies the best social media channels for communicating effectively and engaging various social media audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Manages multiple complex internal and external stakeholder relationships. Evaluates client needs through consultations. Regularly shares updates and issues with stakeholders and team. Provides actionable insight to the business.
  • Develops and executes all phases of the social media strategies, initiatives, and content for online community and social media efforts, plans and campaigns from ideation to production. Consults with the business to align develop social media plans with department strategy and business needs. Assesses and maximizes impact on target audiences and business outcomes.
  • Coordinates the internal review and approval of material. Collaborates across divisions to collect feedback. Implements revisions and obtains necessary approvals for all campaigns. Reviews content to ensure consistency with Vanguard's style. Oversees a library of evergreen content.
  • Creates, writes, and edits complex and engaging social media content based on deep understanding of target audience and platforms. Edits peer's writings and provides recommendations and guidance to others.
  • Improves end-to-end social media processes by applying current and evolving industry standards. Collaborates cross functionally to identify areas for improvement to enhance the effectiveness of social media marketing and its ability to execute on business objectives.
  • Develops and maintains deep knowledge of social media marketing practices and awareness of current and emerging issues. Leads efforts to keep senior management teams and key internal stakeholders informed of industry, competitive and social trends. Monitors new and changing standards and regulations. Proactively adjusts internal best practices accordingly.
  • Develops and executes campaign reports. Shares meaningful reports and results with stakeholders. Prepares and presents trends and insights to inform social media strategy.
  • Identifies, manages, and mitigates risks on social media marketing activities. Conducts channel and platform audits. Prepares risk mitigation plans and proposes solutions.
  • Consults and collaborates with leadership on comprehensive upskilling and training plans. Develops and documents social media best practices for education materials. Serve as a mentor for team members.
  • 10. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years related work experience; two years marketing experience preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
