As a Founding GTM hire, you’ll be responsible for building our outbound pipeline, defining our early GTM playbook, and driving the first meaningful waves of revenue. You’ll work directly with the founders, own top-of-funnel outreach and lead generation, and lay the foundation for what Kaizen’s sales motion will look like as we scale.
What You'll Build
- Target ideal customers in industries like logistics, healthcare, finance, etc. — research companies, build ideal-customer profiles, and map buyer personas.
- Create and run outbound campaigns (email sequences, LinkedIn outreach, calls) to build early pipeline and generate qualified leads.
- Cold-call and follow up on leads — you’re not afraid to pick up the phone.
- Run discovery calls and coordinate product demos (with founders or engineering as needed).
- Define repeatable processes and documentation: outreach cadences, qualification criteria, demo scheduling, hand-offs — everything involved in an outbound GTM motion.
- Work with the founders to refine positioning, messaging, and ICP (ideal customer profile) based on real customer feedback and outreach learnings.
- As we grow: take full ownership of the sales cycle — from initial contact to close — and help structure the sales org for scale.
Who we’re Looking For
- You’re a strong SDR/BDR with a history of outperforming goals — whether you’ve already become an AE or are ready to make that jump.
- You’ve worked (or still work) at an early-stage startup (Seed → Series A), and you understand what it means to build GTM from zero — no existing playbook, no hand-holding.
- You’re scrappy, resourceful, and comfortable wearing many hats. You thrive in ambiguity.
- You’re a hunter by nature: you enjoy outbound outreach, cold calling, and building pipeline.
- You write clearly, think quickly, and communicate effectively — both verbally and in writing.
- You’re based in the Bay Area and able/willing to be onsite full-time (San Francisco) for at least the first few months; hybrid schedule may be possible after ramp.
- You believe in what Kaizen is building — you’re energized by high growth, impact, and being part of something from the ground up.
