Job Description Summary:

The Social Media Manager - Content & Community supports OhioHealth’s brand social media presence through day-to-day content execution, publishing, and audience engagement. This role focuses on delivering consistent, high-quality social content aligned with established strategy, while actively managing and responding to community interactions across platforms.

Working closely with the Advisor, Brand Journalism & Social Media, this role helps bring social campaigns to life, ensures timely and accurate publishing and provides insight into content performance and audience trends. This role executes within established social media strategy and brand guidelines.

Responsibilities And Duties:

The Social Content Manager works as part of a team that focuses on brand and community. The Social Content Manager builds OhioHealth’s social content strategy, as well as managing and developing social content that points to OhioHealth’s owned channels. The content created by the person in this role helps raise brand awareness of the organization and its physicians, clinical experts and associates. The Social Content Manager also builds opportunities to engage OhioHealth’s social audiences, creating conversations that educate, build trust and provide value to the people OhioHealth serves.

40% - Social strategy and management
Monitors and assesses OhioHealth brand social channels for possible updates, changes and audience information
Monitors OhioHealth brand social channels and reviews for opportunities to engage with comments, questions and complaints
Creates and maintains conversations with brand page audiences that educate and inform 
Works with OhioHealth departments and teams to answer community questions and address concerns brought to OhioHealth through social media and online review channels 

Community focus
Creates strategy to build audience engagement on OhioHealth’s brand social channels as well as independent social review websites
Creates and maintains a content calendar for Connects OhioHealth brand social channels to build community trustthe strategic priorities of the organization 
Manages OhioHealth’s response to reviews on independent review websites

Brand focus
Serves as an advisor and lead on crisis communications brand management for the organization on OhioHealth’s brand social channels (brand)
Builds and contributes to OhioHealth’s thought leadership platforms and content (brand)
Shows how OhioHealth brand channels contribute to achieving organizational goals through channel measurement and metrics. (brand)

40% Social content planning and creation
Creates and maintains standard operating procedures for the planning, execution, optimization, distribution and amplification of the organization’s social content
Grows OhioHealth’s social audience by providing regular, helpful content that’s aligned with audience needs and interests.
Create, edit and manage the production of content that is consistent with the OhioHealth brand, style and tone
Contributes to brainstorms for OhioHealth content creation
Attends OhioHealth events for social media support
Publishes relevant and consistent content to OhioHealth social channels

20% Team collaboration, relationship building and social education/advisement
Creates and nurtures OhioHealth brand ambassadors, a group made up of engaged OhioHealth associates
Works closely with Human Resources to monitor and alert HR on associate behavior concerns on social media as well as how to use OhioHealth brand channels as a recruiting and retention channel
Works with OhioHealth sponsorships team to collaborate and strategize social support for each relationship
Meets with OhioHealth teams and groups to educate on OhioHealth’s use of social channels, best practices and associate use of social media
Assists Human Resources, Customer Excellence, Ethics and Compliance, and various other OhioHealth teams with social media questions and situations
Collaborates with internal communications, marketing, designers, and OhioHealth experts to produce relevant content that meets the needs of both key stakeholders and our audience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree (Required)

Additional Job Description:

  • Degree or equivalent experience
  • Field of Study: Social Media, Digital Marketing, Journalism, Communication or related field
  • 5-10 years of experience in a corporate, media, or agency setting
