Department Overview

Applied Technology is a prototyping center within Motorola Solutions. We specialize in proof-of-concept and low-volume advanced communications products for government and industry customers.

The Automated Assembly SMT line provides the populated PCBDs required to build these devices. Our customer-centric, team-based environment provides an excellent opportunity for growth.


Job Description

Provide complex technical analysis and support of the Applied Technology SMT line to maintain optimal operation.

Assist engineering in monitoring and supporting the assembly area. 

Specific tasks include the following: 

  • Develop/modify, test, and debug programs for new or revised SMTapplications. 

  • Perform preventative maintenance to include the following: setup, test, characterize, and debug new or existing equipment 

  • Diagnose, correct, and repair a wide variety of electrical, mechanical, and software malfunctions to maintain operation of the SMT line. 

  • Participate in the development of new or revised SMT processes

  • May provide proper training and direction to Technical Operators on correct usage of automated equipment.

  • Extensive knowledge and ability to set up, operate, and maintain automated equipment. Specific knowledge of screen printers, placement equipment and reflow ovens

  • Knowledge of advanced rework equipment such as SRT Summit systems is a plus. 

  • Must have a working knowledge of basic electronics, mechanical principles, such as hydraulics, pneumatics, and drive mechanisms. Skills required also include data entry as related to computer controlled equipment. 

  • Effective oral and written communications skills and the ability to exercise independent judgment are essential. 

  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision. 

  • Must follow safe working procedures and practice impeccable housekeeping. 

  • Must be a team player in resolving manufacturing issues. 

  • Must have the ability to work various schedules as required.

Target Base Salary Range: $41,700 - $66,700 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
 


Basic Requirements

  • ASEE or 3+ years manufacturing support experience required

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contracts. Some contracts may have higher-level clearance requirements.
