Job Description:
The Practice Supervisor has direct oversight of personnel in the areas of clinical staff such as, but not limited to, medical assistants, lab technicians, schedulers, and x-ray techs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ensures a smooth workflow for back-office staff and is a direct liaison with the practice administrator to ensure that patient needs are met, quality measures/standards are maintained, and productivity is maximized.
Partners with the Reception Supervisor to manage staff and maintain quality customer service at the clinics.
Oversight of clinical needs that relate to MA’s, X-rays, injections, forms processing, and related authorizations.
In collaboration with the Practice Administrator, Human Resources, and the Physician as appropriate: recruit, hire, train, develop, coach, counsel, and discipline employees to maintain optimum levels of service to our patients.
Monitor the flow of patients to maximize efficiency and reduce wait times.
Coach medical assistants in procedures, clinic standards, compliance, and protocols.
Coordinates coverage for medical assistants' staffing needs. Maintains staff coverage calendar(s) and approves timecards.
Foster teamwork among staff for optimal performance. Encourage positive team attitude and support staff development.
Organize monthly team meetings to ensure effective communication and feedback.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Preferred Qualifications: LVN with three years of clinical experience and one year of supervisory experience. Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with an LVN/LPN State Licensure.
Minimum Qualifications: Certified Medical Assistant with five years of clinical experience and one year of supervisory experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Customer (patient) centered individual.
Ability to act as a representative of practice at all times.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrative and clinical staff, groups of managers, patients, and physicians.
Knowledge of required medical coding and how it affects reimbursement from third-party payers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS IN ACCORDANCE WITH ADA:
Minimal Carrying/Lifting
Up to 8 hours per day Standing
Up to 8 hours per day Walking
Required to work at keyboard up to eight hours per day.
Required to view a computer monitor and read printed matter with or without corrective lenses, for up to eight hours per day.
