This position owns the execution of Quality Assurance operational goals and plans in our Avionics manufacturing facilities in Iowa (Decorah, Bellevue, Manchester, Cedar Rapids, Coralville), Moorestown, New Jersey and Heidelberg, Germany. Sets direction and leads resources to ensure continuous quality improvement.  Provides guidance across the organization in the implementation of plans and procedures that drive achievement of Quality goals.  This position has leadership over manufacturing quality professionals, including but not limited to, Quality Engineers, Quality Assurance Technicians, Inspectors and Quality Managers.

What You Will Do:

  • Develops and leads implementation of organization projects and processes to ensure overall quality is continuously improving.

  • Drives quality improvement processes to ensure on-going reductions in product Scrap, Rework and Repair (SRR) costs, Internal Defects and escapes

  • Directs collection and analysis of quality information from multiple sources to develop long-term quality strategy and programs.

  • Directs production process analyses, ensuring quality standards are met and making recommendations for quality improvement.

  • Establishes, oversees, and coordinates quality policy and practice

  • Seeks out and incorporates lessons learned and industry best practices

  • 25% travel may be required (primarily to the other Iowa locations)

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Previous people leadership experience

  • Previous experiences in quality

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in the Aviation industry

  • Experience with AS9100 Quality Management Systems

  • Previous leadership experience in a quality organization

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Competence in root cause corrective action methodologies

The salary range for this role is 157,200 USD - 298,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
