THE OPPORTUNITY

Dematic is seeking an experienced and driven Site Manager, Logistics to join our Project Delivery team in Melbourne on a $500 million dollar project. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role on our biggest ever project globally in Tarneit!

This is an 18-month full time fixed term contract position (with the possibility to extend) is responsible for the planning and coordinating logistic movements, lifting and material flow. The role will also be supporting the broader site installation team with installation, commissioning, and engineering activities on site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be at the heart of bringing complex automation systems into full production, working closely with internal teams, contractors, and clients.

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON

  • Oversee all crane and lifting operations on site

  • In conjunction with Project Managers, plan and coordinate delivery, unloading, lifting, storage, and distribution of materials

  • Ensure all lifting equipment (chains, slings, shackles, beams, spreaders, etc.) is certified

  • Lead and promote a strong safety culture on site.

  • Coordinate activities across principal contractor teams

  • Work closely with Planning and Project Controls to sequence works

  • Maintain clear communication between site teams

  • Ensure works meet project quality requirements.

SETTING YOU UP FOR SUCCESS REQUIRES

* Previous experience on site with crane and lifting operation

* Previous experience with approving and monitoring lift plans

* WHS legislation experience

* Materials handling project experience (ideally)

* Communication and reporting skills

* Logistics experience
