The Site Fire Chief will be based at one of the three Amentum sites in Iraq and serve the Base Life Support Services (BLiSS) contract in support of the U.S. Department of State. This position will be responsible for utilizing resources to accomplish operational requirements and will report to BLiSS Program and Site Management. The additional duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.
DUTIES:
The Site Chief will lead, manage, and direct Fire and Emergency Service programs as established in Army Regulation (AR) 420-5 and guidance issued by the Department of State (DoS) on their assigned site and the program as required.
Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals. Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.
Supervise assigned Fire and Emergency Service personnel during both emergency and non-emergency situations, ensuring the operational readiness of assigned personnel and equipment.
Lead assigned personnel during activities such as: training, work details, crew-level administration, fire prevention, public education, and communications.
Serve as a structural and airport firefighter, first responder, and HAZMAT responder on a scheduled rotation.
Participate in Fire and Emergency Services activities including fire suppression, EMS, rescue, public assistance, fire investigation, fire prevention, pre-fire planning, Fire Company training, public education, clinical training, and routine maintenance of apparatus, equipment, and facilities.
Support Emergency Management functions as needed.
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for Program and/or Site Management for all matters concerning Fire and Emergency Service functions.

REQUIRED:
Minimum Acceptable Experience Level:
Five (5) or more years Fire Fighting experience.
Two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory role.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of ALL principles and processes involved in Fire and Emergency Services, with the ability to maintain all required certifications and licensures.
Ability to collect, analyze, and summarize data and to prepare clear and concise reports.
Exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and administrative details in a fast paced and constantly changing environment.
Computer skills, specifically in use of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Education: A high school diploma or GED.

Security Vetting: Must be able to obtain and maintain a MRPT US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain Secret Clearance.

Medical: Successfully complete and pass the medical and dental examinations as required by Amentum and our customer for deployment to Iraq. Must maintain physical and dental requirements for duration of deployment.

Two (2) years international experience in challenging locations, preferably working in the Middle East, with a working knowledge of customs and cultural differences.
Previous outside-of-home-country experience is highly desirable and previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions is a plus.
Experience working with Amentum.

WORKING AND LIVING CONDITIONS:
This position is in an austere environment with harsh and dangerous conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be exposed to extreme and austere desert-like environment. Temperatures can reach 120-130 degrees Fahrenheit/50-55 degrees Celsius during the summer months. Employees must be willing and able to perform regular job requirements in this austere, extreme environment, as well as willing and able to deploy to Iraq for extended periods. Work schedules are a minimum of 6 days per week and 10 hours per day, while some jobs have higher daily and weekly minimums. Employees must be willing and able to perform physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum; climbing in and out of equipment; crawling; and working outdoors. This includes being able to lift and carry 40 pounds of personal protective equipment for extended periods of time and being capable of running and ‘duck & cover’ during emergencies without putting oneself or others at risk.
