The Role and Impact:
The Silicon SoC Architect plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of Intel's System-on-Chip (SoC) designs. In this position, you will define and drive end-to-end SoC architecture for highly optimized, modular, and scalable systems that power a diverse range of applications, from high-performance computing to energy-efficient, low-power products. By leveraging your expertise, you will help enable groundbreaking innovation and ensure Intel's technical leadership in the industry. Collaborating across disciplines, you will identify opportunities, analyze trade-offs, and deliver impactful solutions that address complex technical challenges. Your work will directly contribute to the development of world-class products, enhancing interoperability, functionality, and performance across the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and develop SoC architecture, including firmware, hardware, and platform specifications, to meet performance, power, area, timing, and configuration goals.
- Evaluate feasibility trade-offs and explore innovative approaches and novel architectures for SoC.
- Conceptualize and specify microarchitecture and architectural features for next-generation products designed for multiple segments.
- Drive evaluation and integration of existing IP blocks into new SoCs and specify gaskets or glue logic where needed.
- Develop tests, test plans, and testing infrastructure for new architectures/features for SoC.
- Conduct functional modeling simulations and analyze test results using advanced statistical methods to benchmark performance and identify improvement areas.
- Provide experimental proof-of-concept changes and design alternatives to meet technical constraints.
- Influence and challenge cross-functional roadmaps and define technology targets for future SoCs.
- Collaborate with architects, design engineers, system engineers, and verification engineers to improve overall SoC design and overcome constraints.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering
- 15+ years of relevant experience in SoC architecture and development with a Bachelor's degree;
- Proven expertise in SoC architecture fundamentals, microarchitecture, and methodologies.
- Proficiency in architecture definition and feature specification, RTL and logic development, and system architecture integration.
- Detailed understanding of performance and power trade-offs, clocking, reset, coherency, power management, and performance evaluation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives or acting as a mentor within SoC architecture teams.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance technical trade-offs and drive strategic decision-making.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage with cross-functional teams and influence technical direction.
