This role is responsible for performing duties to pick, pack, ship orders and materials while maintaining corporate guidelines for accuracy and timeliness.  Perform duties of receiving inventory and system posting of receipts. Using forklift equipment in the loading and unloading of freight. Inventory management; participate in cycle counting, material movement and replenishment.

General Responsibilities

  • Distribution duties of order pick, pack and ship.  Following our order picking process, selects correct item and quantity for order, visually inspecting items for defects during picking and packing process to ensure that product quality standards are maintained.
  • Prepare orders for shipment, check items picked against picking list ticket for accuracy, select and set up shipping carton, pack properly, and apply proper labels.
  • Operate manifesting software and system.  Prepare bills of lading, shipping labels and all necessary paperwork for truck orders or international shipments.
  • Stack labeled cartons onto proper outbound pallets for small package shipments.
  • Notify supervisor of inventory shortages as well as discrepancies between available inventory indicated on picking ticket and actual inventory. 
  • Restock pick locations with items needed from warehouse bulk locations, and record those replenishment activities in our inventory system.
  • Assist in the loading of outbound shipments.
  • Assist in the scheduling and unloading of freight, and the receiving process of that freight.  Including stock put away and the receiving computer work.
  • Participate in cycle counting of inventory.
  • Perform all other warehouse operations related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to operate sit-down forklift

REQUIRED INTERPERSONAL & BEHAVIORAL SKILLS: 

  • Ability to problem-solve.
  • Ability to concentrate on tasks, make decisions and work calmly and effectively in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize and accurately prioritize work, be detailed and results oriented, understand when urgency is required and use good judgment in varied situations.

 REQUIRED PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must regularly lift and/or moved up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to stand, use hands to grip, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms.

 SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to wear safety glasses, steel toed shoes and hearing protection.

The starting pay range for California is $19.00 to $22.00 per hour, plus eligibility for overtime.  Individual pay and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.  While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.
