Role: The Shift Technician will have in depth knowledge to prepare, operate, and maintain equipment and machinery safely and facilitate training. They perform routine tool changes, maintain and repair tooling to keep production lines optimised and in good working order. They also ensure correct materials are utilised and perform quality control evaluations to confirm finished goods meet quality standards. They will share their experience and knowledge to train and develop our people to the required business documents. They will embrace and champion the trademark behaviours. 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring all equipment is available for tool changes to de done efficiently  
  • Prioritise tool changes from the allocated daily plan  
  • Liaise with production team leader and or production shift leader regarding labour required for tool changes  
  • Inspecting quality of products during machine start up  
  • Identifying problems and seeking solutions  
  • Carrying out root cause analysis, including communication of corrective actions   
  • Conduct training to relevant processes and procedures  
  • Establishing/maintain preventative maintenance methods through process excellence  
  • Maintain high levels of Housekeeping  
  • Participate in the daily operations SQCPE meeting 
  • Support and lead trials when required  
  • Complete all mandatory training. 
  • Step up to the Senior Team Leader role when they are on annual leave
  • risk assess new tasks and support in producing relevant documentation  
  • Seek to improve the safety and environmental impact of the department. Identify risks and defects working towards a no harm safety culture. 
  • Generate solutions to improvement requests (3iii / SISIRI). 
  • Encourage the team to report any Health and Safety risks. 
  • Ensure your team are working in accordance with policies and procedures and only carrying out the tasks they are trained to. 
  • Able to introduce and deliver a robust and efficient localised process for workplace organisation. 
  • Support and streamline efficient processes. 
  • Use lean tools and techniques to drive sustainable solutions – 5s/Kanban/TPM/SMED. 
  • Develop and implement visual workplace organisation along with housekeeping standards. 
  • Regular audits and feedback. 
  • Plan storage locations around efficient workflow. 
  • Continuous improvements Kaizen events.
