We are currently recruiting for a operations shift leader to work from our high performing Compounding Site in Stockport (North West Unit). 

Responsible for leading all aspects of cleanroom operations through management of workload, staff resources, inventory, and equipment, while ensuring compliance with the manufacturing license, safety and quality system requirements.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 6:00 – 14:00 and 14:00 – 22:00 (on weekly rotation)

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for optimising the safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people (SQDCP) performance of assigned shift team, resources, inventory, and equipment
  • Actively support Training and generate development of staff to build capability, competency, flexibility, and ownership within the team
  • Demonstrate the Baxter values through active leadership, leading by example and coaching the team to have the right mindset and behaviours, engagement, and ownership
  • Lead a team of between 20 and 30 operators across preparation, assembly, compounding and labelling within a cleanroom environment.
  • Establish start/end of day processes to ensure procedural requirements are met and handovers are efficient.
  • Ensure that all equipment is operated and maintained to deliver reliable and consistent operational demands, with zero backorders
  • Create a safe working environment with a focus on driving health, safety, and environmental improvements
  • Drive continuous improvement across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people (SQDCP) to identify tangible and clear process improvements to align with unit objectives and share best practice across the business
  • Support and demonstrate cross functional working with Quality, Training, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Engineering, and Validation.
  • Contribute and deliver on strategic improvements and directives within the unit and across the business

Education and Experience

  • Uses people management and supervisory techniques
  • Capable of managing and prioritising workload to meet target timelines and schedules
  • Has strong communication techniques and demonstrates cross functional working across shift teams
  • Employs lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques
  • Working knowledge of investigation and root cause techniques
  • Thorough understanding of GMP shift operations
  • Management experience in a highly regulated GMP environment
  • Experience within a Pharmaceutical GMP environment is required
  • Strong background in manufacturing operations and quality systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Lean Principles and best practice
  • Demonstrated application of Microsoft Office suite.
