Job Summary
Iron Mountain is seeking a highly capable Shift Engineer to join our Operations team. This role is based in Mumbai and reports to the Operation Manager.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the shift team to ensure 100% availability of Data Center (DC) infrastructure through effective planning, organization, supervision, and execution of all maintenance and operational activities.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
In this role, you will:
Operational Leadership & Maintenance: Lead the shift team, efficiently deploy manpower, and oversee the Planning, Organizing, and Supervising of operations and maintenance for the DC building's key systems, including Electrical (HT/LT), DGs, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), Fire Alarm System, BMS (Building Management System), and physical security processes.
Incident and Asset Management: Coordinate the response to all complaints and emergency situations, following the process of Incident Management, preparing Method of Procedures (MOPs) for change management, and conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) with timely closure of recommendations. You will also manage assets, including tracking PPM (Planned Preventive Maintenance) completion and coordinating with vendors.
What You’ll Bring (Skills & Qualifications)
The ideal candidate will have:
5-10 years of experience in Data Center (DC) operations.
Strong knowledge of the operation and maintenance of Civil, HT/LT Electrical system, DGs (Diesel Generators), Fire Alarm System, HVAC systems, and other critical DC infrastructure.
Proven ability in team leadership, vendor management, and carrying out activities that adhere to CAPEX (Capital Expenditure) and OPEX (Operational Expenditure) budgets.
Minimum Diploma or similar qualification in Electrical.
