Job Summary

The Vaccinator Operator GO03 is responsible for administering vaccinations to poultry in accordance with company policies, biosecurity requirements, and animal welfare standards. This role supports flock health by collecting samples for testing, assisting with bird handling and evaluation, and traveling between farm locations to perform daily vaccination activities. The Vaccinator plays a critical role in maintaining animal health, preventing disease, and supporting overall live production operations.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accurately administer vaccinations to poultry following established procedures, animal welfare standards, and biosecurity protocols.
  • Collect blood and swab samples for flock health monitoring and testing.
  • Safely handle, move, and evaluate birds to minimize stress or injury.
  • Weigh birds accurately to support flock performance and health assessments.
  • Follow all biosecurity, safety, and PPE requirements to prevent disease transmission.
  • Safely operate a company vehicle and travel daily between farm locations.
  • Communicate health, safety, equipment, or biosecurity concerns to supervision promptly.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.
     

Secondary / Nice-to-Have Duties

These duties are not essential job functions but may be assigned as needed.

  • Clean and sanitize equipment, vehicles, and work areas to maintain biosecurity standards.
  • Transport vaccines, tools, and supplies to and from farm locations.
  • Prepare daily materials and equipment for scheduled vaccination activities.
  • Assist with general farm support tasks as assigned.
     

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and protocols with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong attention to animal welfare, biosecurity, and safety requirements.
  • Ability to work independently while traveling between farm locations.
  • Basic recordkeeping and documentation skills.
  • Dependable, safety-focused, and able to work in changing environmental conditions.
     

Education and Experience

  • No specific education required.
  • Prior experience with poultry, livestock, or agricultural environments preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company vehicle safely. Cannot have DUI-DWI on record.
     

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and handling of birds.
  • Regular travel between farm locations.
  • Work performed in cold, hot, wet, humid, loud, and biosecure environments.
  • Exposure to chemicals, moving equipment, and outdoor weather conditions.

Safety, Compliance, and Biosecurity

  • Strict adherence to biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety policies is mandatory.
  • Compliance with all company, state, and federal regulations related to live production operations.
  • Participation in required training and compliance programs.
     

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
 

Travel Requirements

Daily travel required to multiple farm locations using a company vehicle.

The qualified candidate will be determined through an interview process.
