About The Opportunity
The Sheeter Helper assists and supports the Sheeter Operator in keeping the sheeter running efficiently. The primary responsibility of the Sheeter Helper is to assist the sheeter operator with all responsibilities in producing and staging of press ready sheets for the presses. The person in this position is responsible for having all materials staged for operation of the sheeter and in pressroom.Essential Functions:
Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
Demonstrate commitment to quality and perform job duties in adherence to GMP guidelines
Be aware of responsibilities and accountability as clearly defined for key staff involved with product safety, legality, and quality systems
Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, and stock specifications based on daily schedule requirements
Review the schedule and stage required skids for the sheeter, rolls, and other items related to the efficient operation of the sheeter
Prepare raw material to the sheeter in a timely manner, following FIFO method when pulling raw material
Cover for vacations on the sheeter
Assist with set up the sheeter and keep it running properly
Properly stage finished sheets in plant based on upcoming jobs
Responsible for sheeter operation and being qualified to operate auxiliary equipment
Responsible for assisting on sheeter preventive maintenance
Must be qualified to operate lift truck equipment
Complete required quality inspections and paperwork
Accurately enter information into the computer system
Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance
Play an active role in the maintenance and housekeeping of the assigned press and surrounding work area
Act as a backup Sheeter Operator in all functions of the sheeter position when needed
Band and wrap pallets when needed
Return left over stock to warehouse and update inventory in SAP
Unload trucks as necessary
Must be qualified to operate balers
Furnish raw material to the sheeter and presses
Load broke trucks when needed
Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements
Actively participate in lean manufacturing initiatives
Perform other duties as assigned by Sheeter Operator/management/supervisors

High school diploma or equivalent
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Safety sensitive position – ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business
Flexibility is required – assignments and shifts may change as workload changes
Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed
Ability to effectively work in teams
Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles
Must have good color perception
