Job Description:
Job Title: ServiceNow ITSM Developer
Department: ITSM
Experience Level: Mid/Senior – 6-10 years of experience
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and customize ServiceNow ITSM modules such as:
- Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Knowledge, CMDB, and Service Catalog.
- Develop custom applications and solutions within ServiceNow using:
- ServiceNow Studio, Flow Designer, UI Builder, and App Engine Studio.
- Integrate ServiceNow with external systems using:
- REST/SOAP APIs, MID Server, IntegrationHub, Web Services, and scripted APIs.
- Implement automation and orchestration for IT processes through Flow Designer and scripting.
- Develop and maintain client scripts, UI policies, business rules, script includes, and scheduled jobs.
- Ensure platform performance, scalability, and compliance with best practices.
- Work closely with architects, admins, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Participate in platform upgrades, migrations, and patch management.
- Conduct code reviews, implement version control, and maintain technical documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption to IT services.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 6-10 years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience.
- Strong understanding of ServiceNow ITSM processes and configurations.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide scripting, and ServiceNow server/client scripting.
- Experience building custom applications on the ServiceNow platform.
- Proven experience with REST/SOAP API integrations and data transformations (JSON, XML).
- Familiarity with Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and Service Portal development.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow data model, CMDB structure, and access control (ACL).
- Understanding of ITIL principles and how they align with ServiceNow processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Must have
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS – ITSM or IntegrationHub)
- Experience with Scoped Apps, App Engine, and Performance Analytics
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Knowledge of Agile / DevOps practices, Git, and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with ServiceNow upgrade management and instance cloning
