We are looking to hire a ServiceNow Development Engineer to join our growing Digital team, supporting the global organization from our London office. This is a sole contributor role with significant reach across global functions, enabling business process optimization, automation, and innovation across the enterprise. You will leverage your ServiceNow expertise to deliver scalable, high-impact solutions and contribute to the digitization of departments across Moderna. You’ll also be in a unique position to explore and adopt Generative AI capabilities in our platform solutions, helping Moderna stay at the forefront of digital transformation. Here’s What You’ll Do:
Your key responsibilities will be:
Delivering robust end-to-end solutions within the ServiceNow platform across ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, HRSD, and Performance Analytics
Designing and developing configurations including Business Rules, UI Policies, UI Actions, Client Scripts, and ACLs (including advanced scripting and Service Portal development)
Leading the development of system integrations using REST, SOAP, MID Servers, or other integration technologies
Driving automation initiatives, system performance improvements, and platform scalability
Participating in agile development cycles including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and user story refinement
Promoting ServiceNow best practices in architecture and development with a mindset of security, stability, and user-centric design
Your responsibilities will also include:
Mentoring junior developers and conducting code reviews to ensure platform consistency and maintainability
Facilitating CI discovery processes and collaborating with class owners to define identification and reconciliation rules
Collaborating closely with Product Owners and Development Managers to evaluate solution design, especially around customization vs. out-of-box implementation
Managing production incidents and coordinating platform upgrades, including use of update sets and the ServiceNow App Store
Supporting the rollout of new features and enhancements while ensuring backward compatibility and long-term supportability
Exploring opportunities to integrate Generative AI tools into the ServiceNow ecosystem to drive intelligent automation and improve user interaction

Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technology or scientific field OR 5 years of equivalent professional experience in lieu of a degree
6+ years of expertise developing on the ServiceNow platform in 2 or more capabilities (ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, HRSD, and PA.)
1 or more active ServiceNow certifications (Certified System Administrator, ITSM, App Specialist)
3+ years of experience integrating ServiceNow with external systems through REST, SOAP, MID-servers, or other relevant technologies
3+ years of experience with HTML5, JAVA, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, Angular.js
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
Knowledge of all aspects of ServiceNow scripting including Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Builder, Scripted REST APIs, and Script Includes
Experience with discovery and CMDB including an understanding of, MID server architecture, probes and sensors, and CMDB identification and reconciliation.
Experience communicating with application users to understand and collect their requirements and requests
Educational or job-related experience documenting technical systems and user workflows
Experience working in life sciences, pharma/biotech, or high-tech industries with a preference for experience in one or more of eCommerce, data/machine learning platforms, or cloud infrastructure
Experience in a regulated environment
Experience working in a matrixed organization
