Tasks and Qualifications:

Key challenges/specific functions:

  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance or repair of Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems (ASRS), Order Fulfilment (OFS) and Sortation systems.

  • Communicate effectively with all Dematic team members including Service Manager, Maintenance Supervisor and Engineers

  • Maintain effective working relationships with all Dematic team members.

  • Resolve within a reasonable time any equipment faults and ensure quality of work.

  • Report faults in a timely manner to your Service Manager

  • Identification and reporting of health and safety risks, accidents, incidents, injuries and property damage at the workplace.

  • Correct utilisation of appropriate personal protective equipment.

  • Compliance with workplace policies and procedures for risk identification, risk assessment and risk control.

  • Active participation in activities associated with the management of workplace health and safety.

  • Ensure all paperwork is completed and submitted on time and correct.

  • Actively participate in a safe working culture.

  • Inspect completed work to check that repairs have been completed correctly and that machinery and equipment conform to specifications and safety standards.

  • Complete all allocated tasks assigned by Service Manager.

Qualifications and Skills required:

  • Tertiary qualified in an engineering discipline

  • Minimum 3 years’ of service experience in control engineering / industrial automation (conveyors) / maintenance of plant/machinery/material handling equipment
  • Experience in computerised maintenance systems
  • PLC experience in Siemens S7 and SCADA WIN CC will be beneficial
  • Experience in pneumatic/hydraulic systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Understanding of OH&S requirements.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours
  • Ability to work in isolation, make decisions and be results driven
  • Great team player and able to work collaboratively
