Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire a Configuration Audit Manager 2 in support of the Sentinel Program. This position can be located in
Huntsville, AL or Roy, UT. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You Will Get To Do:
The successful candidate will lead a team overseeing The Configuration Management Audit team for the Sentinel Program. They will work closely with Program leadership to ensure long-term/short-term milestones are accomplished. They will gather, track, report, and be responsible for key performance indicators including Audit schedules & Action items closure plan from each audit.
The Configuration Audit Manager is responsible for planning, scheduling, and conducting comprehensive functional (FCA) and physical (PCA) audits to verify that configuration items (CIs) conform to documentation and functional requirements. This role ensures all software and hardware baselines are accurate, audit-ready, and compliant with contract requirements (e.g., EIA-649, ISO 9001). The manager will track discrepancies to closure, provide status reporting, and maintain compliance records. The manager will also be responsible in creating/maintaining an Audit Plan. Tasking will include employee development and training coordination, establishing/ implementing policy, Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) response coordination/development and implementation, goal development and engagement planning, and ensuring the competitiveness of the CM Audit team.
Essential Functions:
• Audit Planning & Execution: Plan, conduct, and report on Functional Configuration Audits (FCA) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCA).
• Baseline Management: Establish, maintain, and audit configuration baselines (functional, allocated, and product) for hardware/software.
• Compliance Verification: Ensure all configuration changes are accurately recorded in the CPLM system and conform to contractual requirements.
• Discrepancy Reporting: Identify, document, and track audit findings and corrective actions through to resolution.
• Change Control Board (CCB) Support: Review proposed engineering changes (ECPs/CNs) for impact on existing baselines and audit requirements.
• Documentation Control: Validate that technical documentation (drawings, specifications, software) matches the as-built/as-deployed configuration.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and a minimum 8 years of related experience or master’s degree with 6 years of related experience
• Experience creating processes to manage an audit schedule.
• CM & Systems Engineering experience interacting with US Government contracts/programs or complex industry programs
• Experience with Engineering Change Proposal process within CPLM.
• Experience with NG CDM tools, such as Teamcenter, SharePoint, MES, Jira, SAP, DOORS, and Cameo.
• Experience speaking with and presenting findings/plan to U.S. Government DoW
• 50% Travel is required for this position as Audits will need to be conducted at over 1,000+ suppliers.
• Must have an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope (< 6 years), with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance and an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
• Experience with Defense/Aerospace engineering, maintenance, and modification records.
• Demonstrated success leading teams and/or organizations to achieve a common goal.
• Proven Experience with Process Improvements.
• Experience with AGILE framework program execution.
• More than 5 years of experience of direct CDM domain knowledge.
• Knowledge of Northrop Grumman and Industry CDM Standards including; ASME Y14, MIL-HDBK-61, SAE GEIA-859, SAE EIA-649-1, and GEIA-HB-649.
Primary Level Salary Range: $139,100.00 - $230,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
