The Mission
Reporting to the Vice President of the Defense Sensors Business Area, The Sensor Research and Analysis Division Manager will have overall responsibility for profit and loss, growth, technical execution, staffing, and programmatic performance for a portfolio of programs delivering sensor research, development, analysis, and support for U.S. Department of Defense acquisition and R&D customers.
This position is accountable for meeting both the financial commitments of the business and the mission commitments to our customers across programs totaling over $60M annually. The role also carries significant personnel responsibilities, including oversight of hiring, project staffing, career development, and performance management.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and foster a high-performing, results-oriented culture.
Develop and execute business strategies to drive growth in revenue and operational excellence, coordinating activities across multiple departments and subsidiaries.
Provide guidance to program and project managers to ensure alignment with organizational, technical, managerial, and business development goals.
Demonstrate strong business acumen in making decisions related to business development, proposal strategy, and program execution.
Collaborate with corporate functions—including Finance, Contracts, HR, and Program Execution—to ensure compliance, efficiency, and adherence to best practices.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure delivery of high-quality service and mission success.
Promote team cohesion and a positive, winning culture aligned with Leidos’ core values.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 10+ years of experience in program management, defense production, or manufacturing leadership.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead complex technical programs and earn the trust of customers, peers, and technical teams.
Proven leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to implement improvements across programs or business areas.
Experience staffing and managing multiple concurrent projects.
U.S. Citizenship required. Must possess and maintain a Final Secret Clearance and be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Direct P&L management experience of $25M+ annually.
Experience leading or supporting large-scale acquisition programs or managing complex defense systems.
