The Boeing Company’s Information Digital Technology & Security (IDT&S) organization is currently seeking a Senior Information Technology Business Partner to support Boeing Space Launch Systems (SLS) the team in Huntsville, AL

Join a large, dynamic matrixed team spanning Boeing, Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), customers, and suppliers as a key Information Technology (IT) Business Partner. In this pivotal leadership role, you will collaborate directly with business units and functions to understand critical initiatives, advocate for their needs within Information Technology, and drive the deployment of tailored, effective solutions.

You will lead coordination with partner and government IT teams to deploy and maintain systems across multiple locations, support active missions, optimize IT costs, and ensure all solutions meet stringent security and compliance standards. Balancing strategic vision with hands-on management, you will navigate both long-term program goals and day-to-day operational challenges.

This position will include oversight across Information Technologies activities including infrastructure design and administration, information management, architecture, computing security, computing project support and/or process analysis. Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of the program’s technical strategies, goals, objectives. Acquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.  

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and acts as an internal consultant for liaison activities at a strategic/enterprise level between the business, functions, customers and IT to understand priorities and develop a strategy to ensure the most complex of business objectives are met

  • Provides strategic leadership to develop and implement a technology strategy that aligns with the program and IDT&S goals

  • Leads the education of the Business’ senior leadership on IT service offerings

  • Collaborates directly with business or function to understand problems or initiatives, and represents the business or function within IT at the highest levels to engage the right resources, explores alternatives and help deploy the right solution with first time quality

  • Directs the development and execution of communication plans, including status to leadership and to business or function stakeholders

  • Oversees the identification of risks and impacts and coordinates with business or function senior leadership to approve mitigation plans or changes to commitments

  • Provides input and lessons learned on IT processes, procedures, tools and techniques, and ensures alignment to quality management solutions for the business or function

  • Accounts and plans for the IDT&S dollars spent in support of the program

  • Ensures that financial decisions are aligned with technology roadmaps and long-term strategic goals

  • Provides input and lessons learned on IT processes, procedures, tools and techniques, and ensures alignment to quality management solutions for the business or function

  • Monitors the performance and proactively mitigate risks before they become issues

  • Engages during outages, proactively communicating current status and remediation plans; engage in follow-on Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) to ensure preventative actions are implemented to mitigate recurrence

  • Understands program’s total cyber landscape, risk portfolio, audit observations and compliance position; implementing steps and controls to address non-compliance

  • Understands external services provided by suppliers, including structure and terms of program contracts, to ensure alignment with business needs and expectations

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience working with and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives

  • 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing role

  • 5+ years of experience communicating to employees, customers, peers and multiple levels of leadership

  • 5+ years of experience developing and executing IT project plans

  • Experience collaborating with leaders effectively and with influence across business units, programs and functions

  • Ability to travel 10-20% of the time

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • Experience with IT architectural concepts, principles, standards, tools, techniques, and methodologies

  • Experience with NASA programs, aerospace products and services

  • Experience working with long range business planning and budget management

  • Experience with preparing executive briefings and technical/non-technical summaries

  • Experience with different IT disciplines (e.g., infrastructure, information, application, security, system management, system integration)

  • Experience in project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Smartsheet, JIRA, Confluence, etc.)

NASA Access:

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility
