Job Description
As the SVP, Software Engineering Lead, Core Services, you will be a key leader responsible for defining, building and evolving the shared application foundations and services that enable enterprise software teams to deliver secure, reliable and consistent applications at scale. Working closely with Architecture, Security, Cloud and Application Engineering leaders, you will create opinionated yet extensible core services and frameworks that abstract common concerns, embed enterprise standards and integrate seamlessly with the broader platform ecosystem—allowing product teams to focus on business value rather than plumbing. As a senior team leader, you will guide the design and implementation of core frameworks and tooling, establish and implement architectural guardrails and mentor engineers and technologists, enabling continuous improvement across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Core Services Team, delivering shared frameworks, libraries and tooling that support enterprise application development.
Define and execute the strategic vision for standardized application foundations, including API frameworks, service templates, and common runtime patterns.
Deliver opinionated, self-service developer capabilities aligned with enterprise security, risk and compliance expectations.
Partner with Chief Architect to define reference architectures, standards, and guardrails for application development.
Collaborate closely with cloud, security, risk, infrastructure and application teams to ensure alignment, scalability and operational readiness.
Establish and enforce engineering standards for reliability, resilience, observability and controlled change.
Lead framework lifecycle management, including versioning, upgrades, deprecation and migration strategies.
Build, develop, and retain a high-performing organization of platform and framework engineers.
Qualifications
10+ years of software engineering experience, with deep expertise in building and supporting enterprise-scale applications.
Proven experience in a senior leadership role, managing and mentoring software engineers.
Strong technical background and experience in application frameworks, shared libraries and platform or developer enablement tooling.
Hands-on experience with modern architectures, including cloud-native, distributed systems, APIs and event-driven patterns.
Deep understanding of software engineering principles, application architecture and best practices.
Demonstrated product mindset for internal platforms and developer-facing capabilities.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to navigate ambiguity, balance standardization with flexibility and drive outcomes across federated engineering organizations.
Experience in a regulated and/or security-sensitive enterprise environment is preferred.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
