Senior UX Researcher (cross-studio)

Power Studio | RF Studio | Precision Studio

About the group

Software Digital Platforms (SDP) group provides software that helps customers unlock the value of ADI digital and analog products and integrate them into real solutions. We work at the intersection of hardware engineering and software experiences to support core customer workflows and drive innovation.

Role overview

We are looking for a Senior UX Researcher to bring user insights into our product teams through well-conducted research. This role supports multiple software studios (Power, RF, and Precision), helping teams understand user workflows, validate product direction, and improve experience quality through evidence-based decision-making.

As a senior individual contributor, you’ll be expected to operate with a high degree of independence: shaping research plans, managing stakeholders, and ensuring findings translate into clear decisions and product improvements.

Responsibilities

As a Senior UX Researcher, you will be responsible for increasing our knowledge in key areas of product development: problem spaces, user needs, and product opportunities. You will orchestrate and conduct discovery and evaluative research (e.g., user interviews, workflow studies, usability tests, concept/prototype testing) using the methods most appropriate to the question at hand.

Your responsibilities will include:

Research planning & execution

  • Identifying research needs for projects before or as they kick off.
  • Creating research plans, aligning, and clearly outlining roles across cross-functional partners.
  • Conducting primary research with users (remote and in-person where applicable): interviews, usability testing, workflow studies, concept/prototype testing, and other relevant techniques.
  • Leveraging secondary research (previous internal research, market/context research) to build domain knowledge and accelerate learning.

Synthesis & communication

  • Synthesizing user feedback into clear themes and actionable recommendations.
  • Communicating findings with succinct readouts and decision-focused storytelling for product teams and stakeholders.
  • Supporting Product and UX partners in shaping hypotheses and validating assumptions related to user needs and product direction.

Cross-studio collaboration

  • Working across Power, RF, and Precision teams to ensure research efforts complement each other (avoiding duplication and sharing reusable insights).
  • Partnering with internal domain experts and field-facing teams (e.g., Field Applicaton Engineers) to ground research in real engineering workflows and constraints.

Knowledge sharing & research enablement

  • Contributing to a shared research repository/hub, so findings are accessible, reusable, and aligned to team standards.
  • Helping teams integrate user research into their design and development lifecycle and raising research literacy through pragmatic guidance.

What we’re looking for (expectations)

  • Proven experience conducting UX research across the product lifecycle (discovery through evaluative).
  • Ability to independently run end-to-end research and manage multiple stakeholders with good judgement and clarity.
  • Comfortable engaging with technical users and complex engineering workflows and translating complexity into actionable insights.
  • Strong synthesis and communication skills: you can distil ambiguity into clear recommendations and tell a story that drives decisions.
  • A pragmatic, adaptable approach. We often work in emerging spaces where we need to apply research flexibly.

Nice-to-have (adds leverage, but not required)

  • Experience operating across multiple teams/products (shared-service research model) and building lightweight research cadences/feedback loops.
  • Exposure to analytics and/or large-scale surveys; comfort triangulating qual + quant.
  • Light experience producing rough prototypes/wireframes for testing (helpful, but not a primary requirement for the role).
  • Experience improving research operations: repository hygiene, tagging/standards, and making research more discoverable and reusable.
  • Workshop facilitation (ideation, alignment, synthesis sessions).
  • Experience operating in enterprise environments, with the ability to navigate organizational complexity and collaborate effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders.
