Overview:
The Senior Transformation Program Manager independently leads large-scale, complex transformation initiatives and strategically important engagements across M&T Equipment Finance Corporation. This role delivers measurable business outcomes by applying deep expertise in strategy, program / project management, governance, and change management. The position partners closely with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams to drive execution, accountability, and sustainable change.
Preferred locations: Philadelphia or Buffalo
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead multi‑disciplinary teams through complex business transformation initiatives and high‑impact strategic engagements.
- Responsible for designing, planning, and managing initiatives within enterprise governance framework standards.
- Provide transparency to senior leadership on progress of initiatives through comprehensive and detailed program performance reporting.
- Drive execution certainty by establishing operating rhythm, setting pace, and ensuring disciplined delivery alongside senior leaders.
- Define clear outcomes, success metrics, and performance measures for transformation initiatives.
- Ensure follow‑through on critical actions, decisions, risks, and issues through structured documentation and escalation.
- Proactively leverages and influences others to adopt multiple Transformation Delivery Tools to ensure all action items, risks, decisions, and issues are identified, captured and escalated.
- Develop and tailor communications content and artifacts used across various levels in the organization on complex business initiatives with high attention to detail and quality.
- Apply prioritization and resourcing strategies to ensure effective deployment of talent and capabilities.
- Build credibility and trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and key partners across the organization to break down silos and enable collaboration.
- Shape data-driven strategic recommendations by leveraging deep institutional and banking knowledge of people, processes, products, customers and technology. Lead work groups and individuals with diverse views to develop and provide strategic recommendations.
- Fosters a culture that challenges the status quo by consistently pushing for innovation and new ways of working.
- Mentor and coach team members, promoting ownership of professional development and growth.
- Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.
- Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
- Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years’ work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 11 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 7 years’ work experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills

Education and Experience Preferred:
Relevant financial services industry experience preferred.
Minimum of 5 years’ project, program or portfolio management experience, specifically with large-scale transformation projects
Prior experience leading organizational change
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; MBA or MS preferred. PMP, Agile, SAFe, Certified BA and/or ScrumMaster Certification.
Prior management consulting or comparable client service experience a plus

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $118,200.00 - $197,000.00 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
