YOU
As the Senior Training Specialist, you will oversee the broader training strategy, manage complex projects, mentor others, and may be involved in higher-level strategic planning. You will provide external and internal training throughout the Gallatin, TN branch. You will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of training for new hire associates and current hourly employees. This includes planning, organizing, and facilitating training programs both on-the-job and in classroom settings. In collaboration with Production/Plant Management, this role ensures the delivery of relevant training content, including onboarding, safety, quality, and compliance training. You will also assess employee development needs and implement training strategies that drive employee performance and operational excellence. This position works Monday through Friday 8am – 5pm (overtime as needed).
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)
As a Senior Training Specialist, you assess the training needs of new and existing hourly employees, identifying skill gaps and development opportunities. You work with Department Leaders to implement internal and external training programs that address these gaps. You also manage OSHA and plant-related safety training to ensure compliance and lead quality training initiatives to improve employee knowledge of systems and procedures. (30%)
You ensure all employees receive necessary statutory training and certifications on time, while organizing or sourcing relevant programs to meet specific needs. You create and update training materials like Job Safety Analysis (JSAs), SOPs, and work instructions for clarity. You also develop individualized training plans to support hourly employees' growth. (30%)
You inform hourly employees about available training opportunities and encourage participation. Using a mix of classrooms, virtual, and hands-on coaching, you facilitate learning. You design assessment tools to measure training success, track outcomes, and report on employee progress. Feedback from management, leadership, and employees helps you assess training effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. (20%)
You manage and track training records for all employees, whether in-house or external, ensuring they are up to date, organized, and easily accessible for compliance and reporting purposes. (10%)
You lead special projects assigned by the Manager, Manufacturing Operations, driving continuous improvement in training and development. These may involve designing new programs, optimizing processes, or addressing organizational needs to enhance employee performance. You collaborate across departments to ensure training efforts align with company goals. (10%)
