Job Description:

This job is responsible for leading a team to develop best practices and set operational standards. Key responsibilities include leading the plan, design, and implementation of complex solutions, applying knowledge of technology, and communicating technology solutions across audiences including technical, managerial, business executives, senior executives, and/or vendors. Job expectations may include coaching, mentoring, providing feedback and career development to members of the team, directing team activities, and adhering to defined practices and policies to obtain results.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership in defect, incident, problem, and change review meetings and release activities as applicable, developing reliable and repeatable solutions to technology issues
  • Manages the stability, resiliency, reliability, and performance of a wide array of supported systems
  • Provides point of escalation for team members, peers, and partner teams, and shares the leadership Point of Contact for triage of high priority incidents or consulting engagements
  • Mentors staff, provides technical leadership across the organization, and participates and helps with the resource interview and onboarding processes
  • Directs appropriate teams to ensure alerts, monitoring, dashboards, and processes are established appropriately for new projects and initiatives
  • Performs access reviews, conducts compliance activities, and serves as a delegate for administrative processes
  • Supports change implementations and proactively identifies potential issues resulting from the changes
  • Operational Leadership Uptime Accountability
  • IT Data Hall Operations Capacity Management
  • Own site‑level IT data hall operations in a 24x7 production environment.
  • Maintain accountability for availability targets aligned to a 99% uptime expectation, with focus on IT load readiness.
  • Lead and coordinate onsite response during incidents or degraded conditions.
  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate operational risks related to capacity, equipment placement, and deployment activity.
  • Oversee IT data hall operations across traditional data halls and modular data center infrastructure.
  • Manage electrical capacity availability and ensure safe operating margins.
  • Partner with infrastructure, networking, and deployment teams to ensure deployment readiness and alignment.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between IT operations and critical infrastructure teams.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational discipline.
  • Provide coaching, technical guidance, and support for staffing and escalation models appropriate for a high‑availability site.
  • Vendor Partner Management
  • Maintain accurate operational documentation, capacity records, and reporting.
  • Support audits and compliance activities with clear site‑level insights.
  • Serve as a trusted onsite representative, ensuring transparency and alignment with enterprise partners.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise data center operations, mission‑critical environments, or similar large‑scale infrastructure operations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing IT data hall operations, power availability, and space allocation in a live production environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of IT data hall operations, including rack‑level power, branch circuits, cabinet densities, electrical capacity concepts, and space allocation.
  • Solid understanding of critical infrastructure systems (UPS, generators, switchgear, cooling) and how they impact IT load availability and operational risk.
  • Experience identifying and managing operational risk related to capacity, deployments, and site readiness.
  • Experience leading or supporting onsite operations teams in a 24x7 environment.
  • Proven ability to lead through operational challenges, incidents, and competing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills across technical teams, vendors, and enterprise stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience operating mixed data center environments, including traditional data halls and modular data center infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting high‑availability enterprise environments with uptime expectations of 99% or greater.
  • Familiarity with capacity planning practices, including tracking installed vs. available power and managing space utilization.
  • Experience working with OEMs, service providers, or colocation partners in an onsite operational context.
  • Exposure to data center lifecycle activities, such as site expansion, consolidation, migration, or closure, including coordination with multiple stakeholders.
  • Prior experience supporting audit, compliance, or regulatory reviews within data center or mission‑critical environments.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., CDCP, DCCA, or similar) preferred but not required.
