Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced and technically proficient Senior Technology Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and management of scalable, cloud-native streaming and data platform solutions. This role will focus on implementing and supporting OpenShift, Redis, Kafka, and related technologies within large-scale enterprise environments. You will contribute to building resilient, secure, and efficient distributed systems that align with business objectives and adhere to industry best practices, enabling innovative data-driven applications and services.
Software Requirements
Required:
Deep expertise with containerization and orchestration tools: Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes
Extensive experience configuring and supporting enterprise and open-source Redis environments
Kafka setup and tuning for high throughput and low latency streaming applications
Strong proficiency with CI/CD tools: Git, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Kaniko, Shipwright
Cloud platforms: Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
Linux OS administration, scripting with Shell/Bash
Familiarity with Git version control and automated build/deployment pipelines
Knowledge of scripts and automation in cloud-native environments
Preferred:
Experience with event-driven and streaming technologies such as Flink, Kafka Streams, Beam, or Apache Spark
Security engineering tools and practices for distributed systems
Cloud automation tools and frameworks for easier deployment and management
Overall Responsibilities
Lead the development, deployment, and ongoing management of containerized data and streaming platforms, ensuring high availability and performance
Design scalable architecture supporting real-time data processing, event-driven solutions, and cloud-native applications
Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot Redis, Kafka, and related messaging/data stores for enterprise workloads
Implement and promote best practices for CI/CD pipelines, including automated testing, security, and compliance measures
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop resilient distributed systems and improve existing platform capabilities
Monitor system health, security, and compliance, implementing necessary corrective measures
Drive adoption of GitOps principles and contribute to continuous improvement of platform automation and scalability
Ensure data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance, including encryption, anonymization, and data integrity standards
Resolve platform issues proactively, troubleshoot failures, and optimize performance in production environments

Programming Languages:
Required: Shell scripting, Linux command line
Preferred: Java, Python, Scala for developing custom integrations or scripts
Databases/Data Management:
Experience configuring and supporting Redis (enterprise and open source)
Knowledge of Kafka’s data stores and high throughput configurations

Experience Requirements
Minimum of 12+ years of development and design experience in large-scale distributed systems, focusing on cloud-native, streaming, and data platform technologies
Proven experience configuring and managing OpenShift/Kubernetes environments in enterprise settings
Extensive hands-on knowledge of Redis setup, tuning, and support for high availability scenarios
Strong background in Kafka architecture, deployment, and performance tuning for throughput-intensive applications
Experience integrating cloud-native solutions with public cloud providers such as Azure and OCI
Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects independently and influence cross-functional teams
Domain and Industry Experience:
Preferably with experience in financial services, healthcare, telecommunications, or other sectors with critical data and infrastructure requirements
Alternative Experience Pathways:
Demonstrable successfully managed large distributed systems with similar technology stacks
Day-to-Day Activities
Plan, develop, and manage containerized data streaming platforms using OpenShift, Kafka, and Redis
Automate deployment processes via CI/CD pipelines, ensuring consistency and compliance
Monitor system performance, diagnose incidents, and implement resolution strategies
Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams to improve platform resilience, security, and scalability
Conduct regular reviews of system configurations, security policies, and compliance standards
Perform automated testing—unit, integration, and system—to ensure reliability and stability
Lead troubleshooting efforts for distributed system failures and optimize system tuning
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, Cloud Security certifications) are preferred
Ongoing commitment to professional development in cloud-native, distributed, and streaming technologies
