This role can be located the Caribbean Banking Market or in Canada where the successful candidate resides

What is the opportunity?

In the role you will partner across Technology & Operations and with assigned business lines, focusing on Core Banking and Channel application Support.   You will analyze business, technical and system needs in order to resolve business systems issues and recommend technical solutions which meets sponsor/stakeholder needs.   You will also work with the Application Maintenance and Support team to ensure that RBCC Banking applications issues, as well as other RTB initiatives are efficiently resolved / addressed within the business desired SLA/OLA.  

What will you do?

  • Responsible for assessing, researching and analyzing business, technical and system needs in order to resolve business system issues
  • Recommend technology solutions that meet business/sponsor/stakeholder needs focusing on applications/systems we support
  • Have direct accountability for related event/incident/change/problem, escalation, restoration of service, triage, and maintain all services. 
  • Address client concerns and identify, derive, and lead the implementation of effective resolutions
  • Work alongside the main developers responsible for the solution design, development, testing and implementation of   Process Automation SRE etc. technology and be part of a team that ensures RBC maintains its leadership position at the forefront of technology innovations
  • Provide solutions, including data analysis, to keep system lights on, and work with AMS manager and Business on setting strategic direction for support activities
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance integration and identifying/address any vulnerabilities in the process
  • Improving the team effectiveness and efficiency and coordinate changes, inclusive of quality checks avoiding any potential risk to the associated integrity of the production and DR environments

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Undergraduate Degree/Diploma preferably in Computer Information Systems or equivalent; at least four (4) years’ work experience in Data Processing environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate on a wide variety of issues throughout the organization at various levels (technical specialists, SMEs, senior managers, executives and our client base)
  • Ability to learn and absorb quickly new concepts (in tools and systems). Apply new knowledge as appropriate and transfer knowledge to others
  • Strong ability to manage expectations with team, management and clients, and deliver on them
  • Basic knowledge and experience with all services pertaining to T24 and RIBS systems, Distributed Systems (Windows, Unix and Cloud)
  • Has the insights and experience to define and implement a roadmap of improvements with the goal of increasing support team operational scale and success

Nice to have's

  • Strong application development and Support skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of programming (e.g. Java, Scripting, Phyton, etc) and SQL language
  • Good Communication and can work in distributed team
  • AI and automation experience will be an asset
