Overview
The IT Asset Management Team is seeking a Senior Technical Program Owner to serve as the execution lead across a multi-pillar program spanning hardware, software, digital, and automation operations.
This role is responsible for ensuring work is clearly defined, appropriately sized, prioritized, tracked, and delivered, bringing consistency and accountability to how teams operate. The ideal candidate is a hands-on execution leader who can operate effectively in ambiguity, enforce discipline, and drive results without requiring constant direction. This role will lead day-to-day program execution, providing structure and oversight across multiple teams within IT Asset Management, while actively partnering with stakeholders and managing dependencies across Mastercard and external teams.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong ability to operate independently, bring structure, and drive accountability and prioritization to ensure consistent and predictable delivery. This role requires hands on ownership of execution, proactive problem solving, and the ability to operate at both a strategic level and tactical levels.
Key Responsibilities
· Execution & Delivery Ownership. This role owns end-to-end execution across multiple workstreams and scrum teams, ensuring all work is clearly defined, accurately estimated, actively tracked in JIRA, and progressing toward completion. It is responsible for maintaining thorough documentation and formally closing work within program management tools, while proactively identifying risks, resolving execution gaps, clarifying ownership, and addressing issues that could impact delivery timelines.
· Program Structure & Discipline. This role establishes and enforces clear standards for story quality, refinement, and execution tracking, driving consistent iteration practices such as planning, refinement, and closure across all teams. It ensures work is structured to provide visibility, accountability, and measurable progress, while strengthening execution discipline to improve delivery predictability across the organization.
· Cross Team Alignment & Accountability. This role drives alignment across multiple teams by ensuring clear ownership, effective handoffs, and accountability for agreed-upon processes, timelines, and deliverables. It facilitates effective working sessions as needed, supports capacity planning to align work with available resources, and helps teams translate demands into achievable plans that balance both operational responsibilities and strategic initiatives.
· Process Improvement. This role identifies inefficiencies in execution, JIRA practices, and capacity management, and proposes practical, actionable improvements. It takes a non-dogmatic approach to agile, adapting practices as needed to align with team dynamics and organizational goals while maintaining effectiveness and delivery focus.
