Zoox

Senior Technical Product Manager, HAI & Routing

Foster City, CA Full Time
As Zoox is getting ready for commercial service, expanding the areas in which it operates, and facing increasingly complex and richly nuanced day to day scenarios, we’re growing the Human-AI Experience (HAI) team to help build world-class experiences that account for this growth and make the journey from A to B magical for our riders.  The HAI team (think: HCI or HMI for an autonomous vehicle) is responsible for crafting the way our robot interacts with the world around it - from riders to other road users to the communities in which we co-exist.  To help us in this endeavor, we’re seeking a dynamic Technical Product Manager who will be responsible for driving the vision, strategy, and delivery of features and capabilities for one or more domains within HAI, all to advance our team’s vision of building thoughtful experiences that make the complexities of autonomous vehicles fade into the background for riders and road users alike.

As an integral part of this burgeoning space, you will drive discovery into unmet needs, shape the product vision, define priorities to achieve customer and business objectives, spearhead exploration and validation of early concepts, establish clear metrics, and ultimately ensure success of your product up to and through launch and onward.  You will work closely with a large set of cross-functional teams of designers, researchers, program managers, software engineers, systems engineers, operators, and more to bring our products from idea to reality, from discovery through to delivery.

HAI is comprised of 5 domains, and this PM will work across at least one:
- Pickup and dropoff experience (from booking through to driving, how we meet riders where they are and leave them where they want to be)

- Pullover experience (how we give agency and control to riders to end their ride early or awareness when Zoox requires the vehicle to pull over)

- Routing experience (how we best get from A to B and give riders control over their trip and an understand of any changes that happen along the way)

- Situational awareness for riders (helping the riders understand what the vehicle is doing to instill trust and give riders a sense of agency)

- Road user interactions (multimodal communications (light, sound, voice, motion) with riders, road users, and communities to safely and comfortably navigate dense urban environments)
