Position Overview:
Lead the platform software architecture planning, design and implementation – in particular:
Develop and implement architecture and verification plan
Drive and conduct code reviews
Advise project and program management in planning
Mentor development of team members
Analyze customer, system, and safety requirements to derive software architecture requirements:
Design, document, and implement reusable software architecture based upon generated requirements
Incorporate requirements traceability into the software architecture using dedicated tools such as Polarion, Enterprise Architect
Develop concepts to improve the performance
Develop documentation to comply with automotive A-SPICE
Interface directly with Product Owner to understand requirements and review designs
Interface directly with suppliers to understand and influence design aspects that impact the software
Support resolution of issues reported by customers
Work with Product Owner and SW teams to create software products containing required features and modifications:
Participate in feature design, system architecture design and apply specialized knowledge in a broad spectrum of technology areas including technology trends, current industry standards, and latest solution development techniques
Support and lead quote activities involving software architecture including Proof of Concept activities
Create technical customer interfaces to discuss, understand, describe, and document customer requirements
Care for good company image and its property by demonstrating excellent attitudes toward internal and external customers
Protect of Aptiv confidential information
Execute assigned tasks on-time and in compliance with the quality system valid for Aptiv
Technical Skills:
Utilize expertise in embedded systems design and development to create the list of software components
Ability to create a deployment plan for each software component in the software structure
Experience in creating description of the software architecture, defining each software component in a static point of view and designing dynamic behavior
Experience in planning and describing of the software memory map
Perform decomposition of the requirements related to the software safety for the Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL). Perform safety analysis of the software design and develop the software architecture, that addresses software safety requirements
Competency in collaboration with system and hardware engineers to review and improvement of hardware requirements and specifications, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance of BSPs on target hardware platform.
Requirements and Experience:
Required:
B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech/MSc degree in Electronics or Computer Science or related
14+ years of experience in embedded software product development experience.
Experience with software product architect in the definition and implementation of software architecture within product development
Three or more software project lifecycles at Aptiv or a company with a similar engineering process
Experience in developing highly scalable multi-threaded software for embedded systems
Experience with embedded microcontrollers and microprocessors and common peripherals
Experience with QNX or FreeRTOS or Linux Embedded or VxWorks
Experience with formal UML architectural design tools such as Enterprise Architect
Experience in working with geographically distributed teams
Strong analytical capabilities for identifying and resolving engineering tradeoffs
Demonstrated leadership abilities in directing technical activities and documenting technical issues.
Excellent time management, communications, decision-making, presentation and organization skills
Preferred:
Experience with formal configuration management tools
Familiarity with MISRA standards and verification tools
Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Eth, FlexRay)
Familiarity with maturity models such as A-SPICE
Familiarity with software static analysis tools
Familiarity with requirements analysis tools
Understanding of functional safety (ISO26262) concepts and its impact on software development
