The Opportunity:

Customer Success is at the center of everything we do at Paperless Parts. The Senior Technical Implementation Specialist (Sr. TIS) is a leader within the Technical Services team, driving successful outcomes for our most complex and strategic customers. Reporting to the Manager of Technical Services, the Sr. TIS is responsible for owning, designing, and delivering high-complexity configuration solutions using P3L, our proprietary Python-based pricing language, as well as leading the deployment of our standard ERP integrations. The Sr. TIS is expected to become the subject matter expert in CNC Machining and Sheet Metal Fabrication quoting and estimating.

The Sr. TIS not only builds solutions but champions internal process improvement, serves as a key escalation point, and mentors team members. This role requires deep technical mastery, exceptional communication skills to navigate difficult conversations, and the ability to proactively mitigate project risks to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.

Who you are:

We are seeking a proven technical leader to join our Implementation and Integrations Team. The ideal candidate has 4+ years of relevant experience and is motivated by solving highly complex technical challenges while coaching others to excellence. You are dedicated to working cross-functionally to define best practices and drive the adoption of new technologies and platform features. You leverage your comprehensive understanding of manufacturing to build credibility and advise customers on solutions that maximize the value of the Paperless Parts Platform.

 Responsibilities of a Senior TIS:

  • Proactively mitigate project risks and collaborate with Implementation Project Managers (IPM) to adjust timelines based on accurate time estimates.
  • Advise on and deploy complex configuration solutions for Paperless Parts' standard and customized integrations, acting as the team's subject matter expert.
  • Serve as an escalation point for at-risk projects and highly complex customer requests, providing decisive technical guidance.
  • Champion customer updates aligned with platform releases, ensuring seamless, non-disruptive transitions for strategic accounts.
  • Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in Paperless Parts Platform coding language, P3L, and Python, applying a rigorous problem-solving approach to design customized, maintainable, and productized solutions.
  • Improve configuration processes and define/enhance the team’s documentation approach to increase the speed and quality of deliverables.
  • Analyze complex or unstructured customer data (e.g., in Excel) and manage advanced API workflows with ease.
  • Mentor and coach junior Technical Implementation Specialists on technical best practices, complex configuration approaches, and professional soft skills, including leading difficult customer conversations.
  • Define and enhance team best practices for configuration, technical support, and documentation.
  • Provide complex technical support for both implementation and post-implementation issues, assisting the Paperless Parts Support team.
  • Coach peers on effective consultative selling and enablement skills, helping the team bring confident solutions to customers.
  • Consult and coach customers at a strategic level on optimal quoting workflows, leveraging a solid command of manufacturing industry standards (CNC machining, sheet metal fabricating, 3D printing).
  • Conduct deep, thorough discovery to inform solution design, always considering estimating best practices when addressing custom requirements.
  • Utilize industry knowledge to educate customers and build credibility in the estimating and quoting space.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 4+ years of professional experience in technical implementation, solutions engineering, or equivalent customer-facing development role.
  • Proven expert-level proficiency in a computational environment or programming language. (Python preferred, other languages or Excel considered) 
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex technical projects and adhering to aggressive time-to-value metrics.
  • Exceptional ability to clearly explain complex/custom configurations and benefits to all customer personas (technical and non-technical).
  • Proven track record of defining or enhancing team processes or best practices.
  • Willingness to travel when necessary to customer facilities (average is about 25% of the time).

Salary range: $100,000 - $130,000

The job posting range is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
