Senior Technical Functional Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Technical Functional Analyst to join our dynamic team.

What You’ll Do:

As a Technical Functional Analyst, you act as a key bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams. You are responsible for translating business needs into clear, structured functional and technical requirements, supporting solution design, and ensuring high-quality delivery of applications within large-scale, mission-critical environments.

You collaborate closely with developers, testers, architects, and business representatives, and play a central role throughout the full application lifecycle, from requirements gathering to testing and go-live support.

Requirements & Analysis

  • Gather, analyse, and challenge business requirements in collaboration with stakeholders

  • Produce clear and well-structured functional and technical documentation (use cases, functional specs, data flows)

  • Translate complex business needs into actionable requirements for technical teams

Functional & Technical Expertise

  • Analyse and define integration requirements, including APIs (REST, SOAP) and data exchange formats (JSON, XML, XSD)

  • Support solution design by providing functional input aligned with technical constraints

  • Validate business process models (BPMN, UML) and ensure functional coherence

  • Perform SQL-based data analysis and validation when required

Testing & Quality Support

  • Support functional testing activities, including system testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

  • Prepare test scenarios, test cases, and functional validation criteria

  • Collaborate with testers and developers to analyse defects and ensure resolution

Tools & Ways of Working

  • Actively use Agile and ALM tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Xray

  • Use API testing and analysis tools (e.g. Postman, SoapUI)

  • Work in close collaboration within Agile or hybrid delivery teams

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Act as a trusted functional reference point within the project team

  • Participate in workshops, reviews, and coordination meetings

  • Be available for on-site presence as required (up to 1–2 days per week depending on needs)

What We’re Looking For:

  • Education & Experience: Master’s degree or equivalent experience with 7+ years in the software engineering industry and 2+ years in a similar role.

  • Proven experience working on large-scale or enterprise applications​Experience in complex business domains such as financial services, regulatory, credit, or public sector environments is a strong asset

  • Experience with testing support and UAT coordination

  • Working knowledge of SQL for data validation

  • Language Skills: Native in Dutch or French and fluent in English .

  • Technical Skills: Strong programming and debugging abilities, knowledge of UML and BPMN.

  • Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall approaches, and best practices in software development.

  • Tools :Jira, confluence , Xray

    API interaction/testing tools (Postman, SoapUI)

    XML/XSD tools (e.g. XMLSpy)

  • Communication: Capable of presenting and leading workshops with clients.

  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical, interpersonal, teamwork, organizational, and time management skills.
