POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Tax Analyst role is an exciting opportunity to become an integral part of a growing tax department that handles and coordinates all tax matters for North America. This role will focus on US federal and state income tax provision, support outsourced compliance, organize and handle income tax notices and audits and perform tax research for compliance and planning opportunities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support all aspects of the US and Canadian income tax provision process.
- Collaborate with various departments and consultants to gather information needed for tax filings.
- Ensure timely and accurate responses to tax authorities by coordinating federal, state, and local income tax audits and organizing and managing income tax notices
- Ensure accuracy of tax account reconciliations and related analysis of tax account activity and balances.
- Maintain tax basis fixed assets and depreciation.
- Prepare quarterly federal and state estimated and extension payments.
- Prepare monthly Canadian estimated payments.
- Prepare Commercial Activities Tax Returns and other miscellaneous state filings.
- Manage the preparation and filing of all informational reporting (Forms 1099 and 1042).
- Prepare information to support the group’s global compliance with Pillar Two.
- Conduct research and interpret domestic tax laws to identify planning opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Assume responsibility for additional duties as assigned to support overall tax function objectives.
REQUIREMENTS (to include educational requirements):
- Bachelor’s degree with a major or emphasis in accounting.
- CPA certification preferred but not required.
- 3-5 years of relevant tax experience in corporate or public accounting.
- Experience with corporate federal income tax, provision and multi-state income tax.
- ASC 740 and/or IAS 12 experience.
- International income tax experience a plus, specifically Canada and Mexico.
- Strong tax research skills.
- Well organized and can effectively work in a multi-task environment demonstrating a strong work ethic coupled with a strong sense of meeting internal and external deadlines.
- Personable, effective communicator, sincere and to the point.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
- Ability to work well with others in all departments and at all levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft office products, specifically excel.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software.
- Experience with SAP and tax provision software a plus.
