Leidos’ Space Division has an opportunity on the Space Based Interceptor program for the Fire Control team. We are looking for experienced Systems Engineers who can bring digital engineering practices into the program and drive digital threads across functional and product teams. You should have experience with model-based engineering tools such as Enterprise Architecture modelers (Cameo, Rhapsody, etc), Requirements Management tools (Jama, DOORS Next Gen, etc), and integration tools (SBE Vision, Aras, Syndeia, etc). You should also have experience implementing data-driven processes, digital platform set-ups, and cross-functional teamwork.
Please note that this is a hybrid position that requires onsite support 1-2 days per week from either Reston - VA or Huntsville - AL.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist the Space Based Interceptor System Engineering Lead in implementing Leidos Digital Engineering solutions.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including systems engineers, software developers, and solution architects to ensure project goals align.
- Contribute to the modeling, simulation, and analysis of systems throughout their lifecycle, supporting design, testing, and validation efforts on multiple high-priority programs.
- Aid, lead and/or own process improvement initiatives by researching emerging digital engineering technologies and providing recommendations for integration.
- Document technical solutions, workflows, and processes to ensure knowledge sharing and adherence to standards.
- Participate in meetings, prepare reports, and present technical insights to team members and stakeholders.
- Assist with troubleshooting, performance analysis, and optimization of digital engineering systems.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and adherence to best practices in software design and architecture.
- Collaborate with government stakeholders and internal engineering teams.
- Champion MBSE within our organization, and serve as POC to our customers for MBSE
- Stay up to date on state-of-the-art MBSE practices and technologies.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field and 8+ years of prior systems engineering experience.
- SME level knowledge and experience with Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and developing models with SysML.
- Proven experience and knowledge with implementing Space Systems Architecture frameworks.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to work well within a team and independently with minimal supervision.
- Active DoD Secret clearance or higher.
- Must be a US Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with model and simulation environments to support simulation and testing.
- Experience with Atlassian tools and Teamwork Cloud.
- Familiarity with DoD MOSA Initiatives.
- Prior experience working with the Department of Defense.
- Familiarity with SysML v2 a plus.

Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
