Position Title:    Senior Systems Analyst

Job Description:

Review application requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to assist with testing and validation, ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements. Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases. Execute functional and automated tests on various software architectures, including APIs, web services, client-server, and web applications. Identify, record, document, and track software defects. Write comprehensive, reproduceable bug reports. Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders/ user group(s), ensuring their functional and business requirements are met throughout the software product development lifecycle (SDLC). Collaborate with team members to improve testing efficiency and effectiveness. Ensure product quality by contributing to continuous process improvement within quality engineering (QE) and Scrum teams. Propose and implement test automation solutions for different functional areas, business domains, application platforms. Provide regular status reporting and issue tracking. Engage with users to develop requirements for future enhancements and obtain feature acceptance during late-stage testing. Develop requirements for infrastructure improvements, including converting requirements into JIRA items and ensuring successful implementation of the requirements by the development team. Provide user support for production issues on an ad hoc basis. Stay up to date with industry trends, new testing tools and strategies. Position is fixed location based in Boston office, however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed.

Job Requirements:

Requires a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology and Management or a directly related field plus two (2) years of experience performing quality engineering, systems analysis, and software testing in the financial services industry.

Must have at least two (2) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

  • Software QE methodologies, tools, and processes, including Agile and Jira
  • Backend testing, black-box testing, user acceptance testing, API testing, functional testing, system testing, and regression testing
  • Agile/SCRUM development process
  • SQL and enterprise database technologies, including Oracle and Postgres
  • API Testing and ad hoc troubleshooting via Postman or Hoppscotch
  • Writing requirements, functional specifications, use cases, and test plans
  • Project management, including maintaining development cadence for team-specific projects as well as integration management of cross-functional endeavors 
  • Stakeholder management, including solution design and support

Will accept a Bachelor’s degree plus five (5) years of experience performing quality engineering, systems analysis, and software testing in the financial services industry in lieu of Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) plus two (2) years of experience.

40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm, Salary range: $141,000 – $155,000/year.
