Your Impact

You will play a pivotal role in strengthening and scaling Axon’s global supplier quality strategy across newly integrated and future acquisitions. By ensuring supplier readiness, driving continuous improvement, and partnering cross-functionally during new product introductions, you will directly influence product reliability, operational efficiency, and speed to market. Your work will help reduce risk, improve manufacturing scalability, and elevate supplier performance across the U.S. and Europe — enabling Axon to integrate acquisitions seamlessly while maintaining the highest standards of quality and execution.

What You’ll Do: 
Location: Scottdale, AZ with 30-40% travel to Germany, Virginia, and Ohio
Reports to: Senior Director, Global Supplier Quality
Direct Reports: none

  • Lead supplier qualification, audits, and ongoing performance improvement across all Axon M&A entities, including Dedrone, Prepared, Fusus, Interview Kits, and future acquisitions.
  • Partner closely with Design Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to support new product introductions (NPI) from prototype through production ramp.
  • Drive supplier readiness reviews and lead DFx, PPAP, and FAIR activities to ensure robust process and product qualification.
  • Assess and strengthen supplier inspection capabilities (IQC, OQC, IPQC) and process controls using data-driven quality tools
  •  Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions (SCARs, NCMRs) to prevent recurrence of quality issues.
  •  Collaborate with suppliers on continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, cost of poor quality, and improve delivery performance.
  •  Review engineering drawings and manufacturing processes to ensure compliance, manufacturability, and scalability.
  •  Track, analyze, and report supplier quality metrics to key stakeholders across Operations, Quality, and Program Management.Partner with cross-functional Quality teams to support supplier development activities across the U.S. and Europe, enabling smooth transitions from NPI to mass production for M&A entities.

What You Bring

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in Supplier Quality, Supplier Development, Manufacturing Quality, or Operations Engineering within complex, regulated, or high-reliability industries.
  • Demonstrated expertise in supplier qualification, audits, and global supplier performance management, including experience supporting multi-site and international supply chains.
  • Deep experience leading NPI supplier readiness from prototype through production ramp, including DFx, process validation, PPAP, FAIR, and risk mitigation planning.
  • Strong command of quality systems and tools, including root cause analysis (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone), statistical methods (SPC, Cp/Cpk), PFMEA, control plans, and structured corrective action (SCAR/NCMR).
  • Proven ability to assess and improve supplier inspection systems (IQC, IPQC, OQC) and manufacturing process controls using data-driven approaches.
  • Experience working closely with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to ensure manufacturability, scalability, and cost-effective production.
  • Demonstrated success driving measurable improvements in supplier quality, cost of poor quality (COPQ), yield, and on-time delivery.
  • Strong technical capability reviewing engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing processes to ensure compliance and robustness.
  • Experience supporting or integrating M&A entities, new suppliers, or rapidly scaling product lines in dynamic environments.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence suppliers, cross-functional leaders, and executive stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 30–40% domestically and internationally.
