Job Summary

The Strategy Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the delivery of high‑impact strategic engagements across the Group. The role focuses on providing rigorous analysis, insight, and high‑quality outputs that inform senior decision‑making.

Working closely with the Managing Executive: Strategy and internal stakeholders, the analyst contributes to shaping strategic discussions through structured research, financial and competitive analysis, and the synthesis of complex information enabling informed strategic choices. The role requires building effective working relationships with internal stakeholders to support alignment and delivery of strategic work.

In addition, Strategy Analysts manage and maintain the Strategy Office’s knowledge base by capturing key learnings, developing reusable frameworks and tools, and supporting the ongoing development of the organization's strategic capability.

Job Description

Key Focus Areas:

  • Support the end‑to‑end delivery of strategy projects by conducting structured research and analysis (e.g. financial, market, and competitor analysis) and producing high‑quality outputs.

  • Develop data‑driven insights to assess business unit performance, growth opportunities, new ventures, and performance improvement initiatives.

  • Prepare clear, concise presentations and reports for senior stakeholders, translating complex analysis into actionable recommendations.

  • Ensure high standards of analytical rigor and data integrity, leveraging internal and external information sources to produce robust and credible analysis.

  • Build effective internal partnerships and engage stakeholders to support alignment and delivery of strategic initiatives.

  • Contribute to knowledge management by capturing learnings and developing reusable frameworks, tools, and intellectual capital for the Strategy Office.

Accountabilities:

Strategy Project Delivery & Analysis

  • Support the end‑to‑end delivery of strategy projects through structured research and analysis, including financial, market, and competitor analysis.

  • Assist in problem structuring, hypothesis development, and analytical design to support high‑impact strategic engagements.

  • Work closely with Managing Executives: Strategy to ensure analyses are relevant, timely, and decision‑oriented.

Insight Development & Strategic Evaluation

  • Develop data‑driven insights to evaluate business unit performance, growth opportunities, new ventures, and performance improvement initiatives.

  • Synthesize complex data and information into clear perspectives that inform strategic choices.

  • Apply sound judgement to interpret insights in the context of the Group’s strategy, priorities, and market environment.

Executive‑Ready Outputs & Communication

  • Prepare clear, concise presentations and reports for senior stakeholders, translating analysis into actionable recommendations.

  • Ensure outputs are structured, well‑articulated, and suitable for Exco and Board‑level audiences.

  • Support the preparation of briefing materials and content for strategic discussions and decision‑making forums.

Analytical Rigor & Data Integrity

  • Maintain high standards of analytical rigor, accuracy, and data integrity across all strategic work.

  • Leverage internal and external data sources responsibly to ensure robustness and credibility of analysis.

  • Apply consistent methodologies and quality controls in line with Strategy Office standards.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

  • Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders across business units and functions.

  • Engage stakeholders to gather inputs, test insights, and support alignment on strategic initiatives.

  • Work collaboratively as part of cross‑functional teams to enable delivery of strategic outcomes.

Knowledge Management & Capability Building

  • Manage and maintain the Strategy Office’s knowledge base by capturing key learnings from strategic engagements.

  • Develop reusable frameworks, tools, and analytical assets to support future strategy work.

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the organization's strategic capability and intellectual capital.

Education/ Qualification:

  • Postgraduate qualification preferred (MSc, CFA etc.).

  • Field of Study: Finance, Economics, Strategy, Engineering, Mathematics, or related quantitative or business disciplines.

Work Experience:

The Strategy Analyst typically brings 2–4 years of experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, strategic planning, or analytical roles within financial services or similarly complex, data‑driven organizations. Experience may include exposure to growth strategy, performance improvement, market analysis, or business case development.

The role requires hands‑on experience in structured analysis, including financial, market, and competitor analysis, as well as the ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights for senior audiences. Prior experience preparing executive‑level presentations, reports, or briefing materials is essential.

Successful candidates often have experience working in cross‑functional environments, engaging with stakeholders across business units, functions, or geographies. Familiarity with operating in fast‑paced, high‑expectation environments—where accuracy, judgement, and discretion are critical is important.

Experience within financial services, banking, or regulated environments is preferred, as is exposure to strategic initiatives such as business unit performance reviews, growth opportunities, new ventures, or transformation programmes.

  • Attention to Detail & Intellectual Curiosity: Detail‑oriented and intellectually curious, with a proactive approach to problem‑solving and continuous learning.

  • Delivery Under Pressure: Comfortable managing multiple priorities and delivering high‑quality outputs in fast‑paced, high‑pressure environments.
