As the Senior State HR Investigations Consultant for the Chief Human Resources Office (CHRO), you are a leading human resource expert, providing comprehensive advice, guidance, and assistance to State HR professionals on highly complex human resource investigations in state government. The Senior State HR Investigations Consultant conducts comprehensive ongoing evaluations and maintenance of enterprise-wide HR investigation practices in alignment with the Chief Human Resources Officer, DAS Director and Governor initiatives.

You will serve as a vital expert, developing and delivering training programs, providing strategic consultation to agency leadership on highly complex workplace investigations, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, policies, and best practices. Most importantly you are responsible for overseeing complex and sensitive investigations involving allegations of misconduct, discrimination, harassment, and other workplace issues while maintaining confidentiality and integrity of investigative processes.

What We Are Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Seven years of executive-level policy development or foundational experience in human resources, including workforce investigations and human resource management principles and practices; OR

  •  An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Attributes:

  • Extensive experience conducting and overseeing complex and high-risk workplace investigations.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to approach all interactions with a high degree of professionalism, even under sensitive/difficult or politically sensitive circumstances.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of HR principles to determine the appropriate investigative approach, methodology, and course of action.

  • Demonstrated ability to navigate statewide organizational dynamics and build collaborative relationships with government officials, agency directors, attorneys, and HR leaders, using diplomacy and sound judgment.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze investigative data to identify trends, root causes, and areas of concern, and implement large‑scale corrective actions.

  • Possess communication skills with ability to meet customer service priorities and expectations of the work unit, written and verbal.
