We are seeking a talented individual to join our global team. This role will be based in Melbourne or Sydney. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

As a Senior Specialist - Telecommunications, you will work on telecommunications, conferencing, and mobility systems to ensure seamless communication services aligned with business needs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and vendors to resolve complex issues, drive continuous improvement, and mentor junior team members. As part of a global team operating on a follow-the-sun model, you will need to be largely self-managed and proactive in identifying and mitigating any issues quickly to ensure seamless service continuity across time zones.

We will count on you to: 

  • Lead and oversee Move/Add/Changes (MACs) for telecommunications, conferencing, and mobility systems, minimising service disruption 
  • Provide advanced support, troubleshooting and maintenance for cloud-based and on-premises phone/conferencing platforms, voice circuits
  • Take ownership of complex incidents, driving root cause analysis and coordinating with vendors and internal teams for resolution 
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering skill development and operational best practices 
  • Utilise ServiceNow for incident, change and configuration management, driving continuous improvement in ITSM processes 
  • Engage with vendors to manage activities including service level monitoring and escalation coordination 
  • Contribute to strategic planning and cross-functional projects across the Voice team

What you need to have: 

  • Extensive experience in telecommunications and conferencing systems, both cloud-based and on-premises, with advanced troubleshooting skills 
  • Deep expertise in SIP, ISDN, and Session Border Controller (SBC) configuration and troubleshooting, particularly with AudioCodes, Cisco, or similar vendors 
  • Proficiency in advanced data analysis and reporting tools such as Excel and Power BI 
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, Mac, virtualised environments, and ITSM platforms like ServiceNow 
  • Proven experience mentoring junior staff and managing vendor relationships 
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills 

What makes you stand out: 

  • Scripting and automation experience using Python, PowerShell, or other programming languages to enhance operational efficiency 
  • Relevant certifications in telecommunications systems, cloud communications, ITIL, or equivalent 
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure and security principles related to voice systems 
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing complex projects
