Location: In any of the following states: Bhubaneshwar, Bhopal and Chandigarh.
Duration of contract: 15 months (to be extended as required)
Role purpose: Lead the state/UT PMU to accelerate rooftop solar deployment by strengthening DISCOM-facing operations, ensuring timely approvals/commissioning, improving beneficiary and vendor experience, and delivering high-quality monitoring and reporting.
Key responsibilities:
Lead day-to-day PMU delivery: workplanning, task allocation, quality assurance, and timely submission of required reports and dashboards.
Coordinate with DISCOM teams (commercial, metering, IT, field) to progress feasibility, inspections, commissioning, and net-metering.
Streamline RTS processes; maintain SOPs, TAT trackers, escalation matrix, and action logs.
Track end-to-end pipeline from application to commissioning; identify bottlenecks and drive resolution.
Own MIS/dashboards; ensure data quality and convert insights into clear actions.
Lead stakeholder coordination (DISCOM, state agencies, vendors, field teams) and support targeted capacity building.
Maintain a risk register and issue log; ensure timely closure and documentation of lessons learned.
Minimum experience: 8 years in power/renewable energy sector; at least 5 years in distributed solar/rooftop solar (RTS) implementation; strong familiarity with DISCOM operational processes.
Education (preferred): Bachelor’s and Master’s in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Energy), Renewable Energy, Management, or related discipline.
