We have an exciting opportunity for a: Senior Specialist – Animal Health Trade Compliance

Welcome to our team

The Animal Health Trade Compliance department centralizes and leads Animal Health’s regional trade compliance, ensuring adherence to global customs laws and internal standards. It manages HS classification, origin determination, Free Trade Agreement qualification, ERP/GTM controls (such as SAP GTS), and item master data governance, while monitoring regulatory changes and translating them into policies and system updates. Operating cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Finance, Tax, IT, and GRA, the team handles escalations, audits, voluntary disclosures, CAPA, and AEO self-assessments. Externally, it serves as primary contact with Dutch customs and represents the company in industry trade groups. The department’s work minimizes customs risk and penalties, optimizes duty and trade costs, and supports reliable, compliant global movement of Animal Health products.

About the role

As Senior Specialist – Animal Health Trade Compliance you will report to Trade Compliance Lead. You will ensure effective implementation of Animal Health trade compliance policies and procedures across Animal Health manufacturing sites. This role oversees EU import-export operations and supports global compliance initiatives.

Responsibilities include monitoring regulatory changes, maintaining control mechanisms for Free Trade Agreement benefits and engaging third-party consultants when required.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Oversee centralized EU import operations and provide guidance to sites.
  • Liaise with manufacturing sites, customs brokers, and suppliers to resolve import issues.
  • Conduct broker assessments and monitor recordkeeping standards and performance metrics.
  • Track new EU customs and trade regulations and coordinate implementation.
  • Develop and maintain compliance control mechanisms and documentation processes.
  • Source external consultation as needed.
  • Support development and alignment of corporate and divisional trade compliance policies and SOPs.
  • Collaborate with Global Trade Compliance COE and Global Trade Management on standards implementation.
  • Create and update training materials and deliver compliance training sessions.
  • Assist the site managements during the internal and external customs audits.

What we ask

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Broker’s License or advanced degree preferred.
  • 5–7 years of experience in global trade compliance area.
  • Strong knowledge of import/export regulations and audit practices.
  • Project management skills with experience driving CAPA and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and familiarity with trade management systems.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and travel internationally.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
