Job Summary

The Senior Sourcing Specialist at Corewell Health will lead strategic sourcing initiatives to support clinical and operational needs. This role manages the full sourcing lifecycle, including Request for Proposals (RFPs), contract negotiations, supplier management, stakeholder engagement, and contracting. The ideal candidate will have healthcare sourcing experience, preferably in the clinical space, and demonstrate expertise in cost optimization, compliance, and supplier performance management. This position requires strong analytical skills, the ability to build collaborative relationships across departments, and a commitment to delivering value through strategic procurement practices.  Candidates will act as the key contact and subject matter expert for all strategic supplier management activities. Identifies, develops, and manages a preferred supply base that aligns with Corewell Health strategies and goals. Provides supply chain vision, decision making and execution support to assigned service line, product, or support area. Develops strong supplier relationships, ensuring effective internal and external communications and timely resolution of open items.

Essential Functions

  • Lead the development and implementation of strategies and goals for assigned categories in support of overall business objectives
  • Develop and lead cross functional teams and lead the process to create strategic category plans and consolidation strategy
  • Leads sourcing analysis and selection process and performs cost analyses. Leads development of contract strategy. Negotiates, establishes, monitors and enforces supplier contracts and agreements
  • Develop and benchmarks best practices amongst suppliers. Identify supply base risk and develop/implement mitigation plans including market assessments, supplier's financial assessments, social responsibility, environment, ethics
  • Obtain and communicate market condition information and technology trends related to commodities and suppliers. Utilize market trends to identify and implement appropriate cost controls and business strategy changes
  • Manage and develop continuous improvement programs, addressing quality, delivery, service as well as cost
  • Collaborate across functions, departments, and campuses to develop scorecards and business reviews for key suppliers. Organize and lead scorecard review meetings and business reviews. Create and implement enterprise wide metrics, tools and processes to optimize sourcing and supplier activities

Qualifications

Required

  • Required Bachelor's Degree Supply Management, Business, Finance, or related field
  • 5 years of relevant experience Supply Management experience with focus on strategic sourcing and supplier development
  • 5 years of relevant experience Knowledge of supplier processes and supply chain risk factors including experience in assessing and mitigating risk in the supply base
  • 5 years of relevant experience Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies & cost reduction methodologies
  • 5 years of relevant experience operating in a highly regulated industry.
  • 5 years of relevant experience Professional certifications through APICS, ISM, AHRMM, and/or CSCMP

Preferred

  • Master's Degree
  • CRT-Professional in Supply Management, Certified (CPSM)
  • CRT-Supply Chain Professional, Certified (CSCP)
  • Medical Device industry sourcing and supplier management experience
