About the Role 

Are you ready to take on a technical leadership role in the development of sustainable climate solutions? We are looking for a Senior Software Tester (embedded systems) to join our development team in Kista. This role is ideal for someone who wants to combine deep technical knowledge with advanced quality assurance and coaching of colleagues. 

As a Senior Software Tester, you will be responsible for the test strategy, test design, and quality assurance of our embedded control systems. You will lead testing activities, mentor junior testers, and work closely with software and hardware engineers, designers, Product Owners, and Product Managers. You will be a strong advocate for quality throughout the development lifecycle and contribute to implementing automated tests and consistent testing practices across the team. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and refine the test strategy and test planning for embedded systems 

  • Collaborate with software testers and developers to expand and improve test automation and testing strategies 

  • Execute test cases, analyze results, and clearly document findings 

  • Design and execute advanced system tests (both manual and automated) 

  • Develop test environments and tools for hardware-near testing 

  • Troubleshoot and analyze complex system failures 

  • Ensure testability during the design phase through requirements review and technical guidance 

  • Lead and support junior testers 

  • Collaborate with development, product management, and quality teams to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle 

  • Report test results, risks, and improvement suggestions to stakeholders 

 

Your Profile 

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in system testing within embedded systems 

  • Deep knowledge of RTOS, microcontrollers, embedded Linux, and communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, I2C) 

  • Experience in test automation using tools such as Python, Robot Framework, or similar 

  • Strong understanding of hardware-near development and troubleshooting 

  • Experience with CI/CD and version control (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps) 

  • Strong understanding and experience working according to SCRUM 

  • Experience designing and executing test plans and test cases 

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English 

Nice to Have: 

  • Experience with climate control systems or industrial control systems 

  • Knowledge of IoT/cloud-related technologies such as gateways, MQTT, and Protobuf 

  • Programming skills in C/C++ 

  • Familiarity with electrical cabinets and wiring according to applicable safety regulations
