Overview

We are seeking a Project Manager - Site Assessment and Remediation (SAR) to join our Kootenay, BC team. The successful candidate will bring well developed project management skills and a strong background in contaminated sites as well as the ability to mentor staff, communicate with clients and collaborate with other technical teams across BC and the rest of Canada.   

Located in the Kootenay Region and ideally based out of the Nelson office; however, other locations in BC including our offices in Cranbrook, Fernie and Trail would be considered as alternative office locations.

Your role

  • Senior level project management, including technical program development, management of personnel and resources, oversight of budgets and schedules for deliverables, implementing quality assurance reviews, and ensuring client objectives are met.
  • Understanding client objectives, technical protocols, guidelines and regulations that apply to the work/projects conducted and the rationale/developmental framework behind them.
  • Distributing workload and contributing to group utilization, while also ensuring a healthy work-life balance by coordinating resources across the team.
  • Mentoring more junior environmental professionals and technical staff.
  • Acting as a direct interface between clients and the AtkinsRéalis project team, stakeholders including First Nations and/or regulatory bodies, as appropriate.
  • Contribute to growing the group revenue from existing client relationships, developing new business and/or expanding lines of business.
  • Identifying project quality/project profitability risks and liabilities and developing strategies to minimize them.
  • Ensuring proper implementation and continued use of quality assurance programs and corporate policies and procedures, including Ethics and Compliance.

About you

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Geology, Biology, Chemistry or Environmental Sciences and having a professional designation in BC would be considered an asset.
  • 10+ years of practical environmental consulting experience.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and mentor technical and professional staff at different levels of career development.
  • A technical expertise in the mining sector would be considered an asset, specifically related to abandoned mine sites, remediation, and mine closure.
  • Solid knowledge of municipal, provincial and federal environmental standards, regulations and guidelines as they apply to environmental investigation and remediation projects in British Columbia (and other parts of Canada).
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to manage time and multiple deliverables accordingly.
  • Proven technical writing skills and proficiency in English reading, writing and speaking.

Compensation Range

Expected compensation for this role is between $83,500 - $114,800 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, location, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
